Sweating and sickness

I am a perspirer. There! I said it. Even though it can be inconvenient and embarrassing sometimes, I have noticed, what seems like, one very marked benefit: I don't get sick very often. Don't get me wrong; I do get sick from time to time, but very seldom. I'm just wondering if other perspirers have noticed the same benefit. Is there any correlation or am I just imagining things?

I have not noticed a correlation before, but you may definitely be onto something here!
When we are sick, our bodies will try to get rid of the germs any way they can, one of these ways is by raising their temperature (fever) and sweating it out.
If you perspire naturally all the time, I would say that there is a good chance that is one reason you don't get sick very often. Virus germs are constantly being eliminated from your body when you perspire, so they don't have a good chance of multiplying and making you feel sick.
This is something that is definitely worth investigating!

Thanks for your response, mentalward. Deep down inside, I've always felt that sweating and sickness (or the lack, thereof) are connected in some way. However, I haven't seen any scientific evidence to prove it. It would be good to hear from others concerning this.
By the way, I'll wave back when I see you drive by Smith Mountain Lake.

Okie dokie! I'll be passing by there around noon, I'm thinking. I wanted to get an earlier start, but found out that I have a doctor's appointment in the morning... one that it took two months to get, so I'm not rescheduling!

Toxins go out in your sweat. I would imagine viruses and whatnot could go that route too.
