Have you ever belonged to, or do you belong to any type of fellowship or support group and have you/do you find it helps you cope with everyday life and what it can throw at you? I started going to a support group a week ago because nothing else seemed to help me regain my interest in everday life after a traumatic experience I went through about 6 months ago. I'm very reluctant to use medication as a solution (as my Dr has suggested and practically forced down my throat). I have been going every day since I joined and have found I can't wait to get there (it is non religious)and today I mixed up the times and arrived an hour late and got really annoyed as the group broke up about 20 minutes later. I'd just like to hear some opinions of others who have been through, or are going through a similar experience and what helped you get through it...Thanks

Hi cinnamon,
I don't know if you can call a small group discussing one bible topic as a support group but it definitely helped me and is still helping me to focus on life, regain my interest, and have a positive outlook everyday.
It is also very therapeutic as it encourages me to continue doing what is right according to His principles. So at the end of the day, I can sleep peacefully.

Hi margaux08, I would definitley call your small group a support group as it helps you to focus on life and regain your interest and stay positive, which is exactly what I believe support groups are all about. I love what you said about sleeping peacefully, I hope that will come in time for me also... thanks or your response
