Why did you let me go? The same issues came up time and time and time again. I heard a lot of promises, but no change. You promised to get your anger under control. You promised to get rid of your bad habits. I got a lot of talk, but it turned out to be oxygen being inhaled and carbon dioxide exhaled. You kept saying that you wanted to progress in your life, take up a skill...it never happened. Instead you went back to the same friends, the same old ways. I saw you make dumb decision after dumb decision after dumb decision. I saw you get into trouble with the law left and right. After the first probation, I thought you had learned your lesson. But you kept getting into more and more trouble. So one day before Valentine's Day, I got a revelation. To quote Aimee Mann, I realized that "that's just what you are." You are like Typhoid Mary. You are a drama magnet. Everywhere you go, drama drama drama seems to follow you. You think I want to be with someone like that? Come on sista. Get real. I still love you. I will always love you as a friend. Your feelings beyond that are your cross to bear. I've moved on. As you know, I am now happily married to someone else. And I am sure there is someone out there for you. But will you be ready for him. You need to grow up first. Hey can I give you a ride?/May I have a ride? Yeah, sure, what's a ride between friends? Well, we had some beautiful memories. But you know, some bridges are burned in life that can never be rebuilt. Yes, we had some good times, even though our relationship was a hot mess. But the time has come to move on. I met someone God has used to heal my heart. We fell in love and got married, and I have not looked back. This is sort of odd that you posted this today as I just seen my ex fiance due to his mother dying and we have a daughter together. We had a nice visit and I actually enjoyed talking to him and we did discuss some of these issues. Here are the answers that I would give to those questions: "Why did you let me go" --- I didn't let you go, you let me go. I never came up on our relationship. "I still love you" --- I appreciate that and I still love you to,but I am glad that we have moved on. I will always care about you and hope you do the same. "When did we last talk" --- We just talked. "Will you go out with me" --- No, I won't as we are both married. "Can I give/ask you for a ride" --- Sure "I can not keep my promise to you" --- Well, I know that promises aren't always kept and I am sorry that you can't. "My friends say we don't look good together"--- Well, friends are important,but what do you think about us. "You have changed"--- I know that I have changed and you have too. We are a lot older and more mature now that we were when we were together. "Can we get back together" --- No, we have both moved on and we are both married and have our own lives now.
