Hi Plumwish, Oh my pets are like family to me too, I have two cats and two rabbits and they are all my babies. In fact they look out for me as much as I do them. Wilfred and Sybil my cats always appear whenever there is a visitor to check them out LOL. Ellie :D

I once read that having pets is a way for humans to keep in touch with nature. I think this is a good analogy. We love our cats . I have one of them rubbing against my leg right now. They are affectionate and loyal pals. We have had dogs, too, but our last one passed away at the age of 15. We are getting older , too, and don't want to take care of a dog any more. Cats are pretty independant.

We have pets here and while they are not only loved and cared for, they are also our guard dogs which keep our property safe from trespassers intent on stealing.

I agree that our cat is an important member of our family, but he is more important to me than he is to my husband. He was my Christmas present a couple of years ago but seems to prefer my husband to me. That's OK by me. He's an especially affectionate cat, and I'm usually busy with housework, cooking, sewing, gardening, etc. My retired husband has more time to sit and hold the cat.

The only pets we have right now are guppies. When I get my house straightened up maybe a puppy. I totally agree that pets need to be cared for.

and they have moved ith us every where we have moved since we got them . We also do punishments they dont know about it for they have to stay out side if they pee on the floor but then they get back in for its way to hot to leave them outside.

I have one pet. His name is Richard and he's a cat. As I live alone, except for my assistants who come in and out, Richard is great company for me when no one is here. I used to have seizures every few months and research on the internet told me that I might be able to control them if I bought a cat. Apparently, cats are good for your seratonin levels which when they get out of whack will cause you to have seizures. I'm not saying it works for everyone but it worked for me. I haven't had a seizure in a year. I can even get an exception to a no pet policy in an apartment if I move.

The animals in my life are SO much more than just pets. I love them, I cherish their company. They are my family, no different. And I am happy to take care of them.
I don't think that I am going to want kids (at least not my own-if I ever have kids I will adopt). But the animals I will have in my life (present and future) will act as my children. They will be a replacement. I will love them as much, and be happy with them!
I really can't stand people who say pets are just pets!

Yes my dog's are not just animal's in our house whole they are family! The kids always complain that I treat the dog's better the I treat them :) so I tell them that the dog's show me more love and are always happy to see me, when I get home from work the dog's greet you at the door but the kids you have to go search the house to find them and say hello to them and they may grunt back a reply if your lucky so yes we love our dog's

Pets are creatures that are there for you. Pets are something you will love even when it's not the best time. Say you get really angry with your wife or girlfriend you will always have your pet at your side.
I guess pets are just inspiration that costs a little bit of money

u r rite, when we take pets at our home, they are just our family memembers. We take care of them as like childern. They cant speak but even then they express their feelings to us through thier eyes. I love pets. But little u have narrow concept. Taking care of Home pets is easy. Who care for the dogs on road. These dogs dont have feeling........ I take care of them as much as i can. Give them bread, milk so that they cant spend night without eating, at least one .........

I love my cats more than anyone or anything in my life. I would
do anything for them that I could. They come first before me
or anyone. They are my babies. They mean everything to me.
I make sure that they have everything that they need. I keep
the happy and well fed. I make sure that they stay healthy and play
with them and make sure that they play with each other. They are
4 1/2 years old and are from the same litter. They make me laugh
alot by the thing they do. I love to watch the when they don't
know that I'm watching. I love to pet them and hear them purr
so I know that their happy! They are my family!

I have many pets. Me too, I treat them like the way you treat your pets. I think pet should not be just plain pets. You should treat them as a family member too. I love it when my mother tells me that my pet dog is my older brother. He is my older brother because they say that a year in a dog's life is like 7 years in a human's life. I also love our cat and our birds.
