We don't even have any kids in the house anymore, but yesterday, I just couldn't resist the sales at the local Staples. They had Mead Composition 100 page notebooks for 25 cents each! And they had the 70 page spiral notebooks for 5 cents each! But the best sale, was a limit of 10 file pocket folders of assorted colors for FREE! No kidding!
Now, since my husband and I both do a lot of writing and list-making, I decided I had to take advantage of these deals. Plus, I use the Mead Composition notebooks to give out as journals for some of my patients. My husband uses them to write his thoughts when he's working on projects.
I can't believe every person in town isn't going in there to get the 10 free folders! I can use them to store house paperwork and other such items in, rather than a file folder. So, I think they'll be very handy.
Are the back to school deals in your town this good? I just can't resist them. What about you?

Oh my gosh, jillhill. I just remembered this is the week we are going to West Palm Beach for a couple of days. I'm afraid that by the time we get home on Sunday, it will be too late, and I'll be too tired to avail myself of the sales.
That's just as well as I have a feeling I may be doing some other shopping in West Palm Beach. Hmmm, I wonder what the fashionistas are wearing over there...

Hi sunnflr.
Wow, 10 cents each for the composition notebooks is just ridiculously low! The weekend before this last one, we hit the sales, also at Staples, and bought the cutest little staplers for 25 cents. They came in a huge variety of colors and I bought 3 of them. My husband bought 2 of them.
I'm going to give them as gifts, they are so cute. And I bought a pencil box for a penny! It's crazy, but I just couldn't pass them up. My total that week was 82 cents. No kidding. This week, it was $4.39.
Can't wait to see this Sunday's sale papers...

I agree, sunnflr. It's so great to feel like we are getting deals with the economy the way that it is. Yes, I'm pretty stocked up on notebooks right now. I may be thinking of very creative gift baskets for Christmas.

Well now, who doesn't love a bargain or freebie? I get excited over just smelling that new box of Crayola crayons. What a rush! I have no use for them but I sure love the smell. I will be over by Staples today and I plan to sneak in and take a sniff and maybe pickup on a few bargains. Thanks!

Hi bowtieguy.
Well, we've been having some fantastic sales down our way. I hope you will find some good bargains when you shop for your sons. It can be a fun time, going from store to store and picking up the least expensive sale items. Watching the sales in the Sunday newspaper is how I have learned about them. Take care and hope you get good deals!

Greetings ellie333.
Your deal at Woolworths sounds fantastic! That would be an unbelievable deal here in the states. I do not know what an ebough bonus is, but it sounds excellent.
Hey, is your economy suffering over there in England, the way it is in the U.S.? Just wondering. Take care.

Oh yeah!! Our back to school supplies stuff had GREAT DEALS. My mother called my Saturday and told me that one of the Local Wal-Marts had paper for .15 cent each. She found a 72 count of pencils at office max for 1.99. She found my children the cutest backpacks just for 4.99. I think that stores are relizing that school supplies is going to be one of the major idems they sale and the lower they price stuff the more people will buy. Also I think if you going in to buy supplies for school and your in there your also going to look around and buy other stuff too.

Congrats on the savings. I know when I save on something I try to take the difference in the two prices and put that money up for Christmas. Since I got four Daughters that money does come in handy. I also have one of those whos birthday is the 28th of december and the oldest is 2nd of Janurary so extra money comes in hand..

Yes, I got very excited about the Staples sales. I've got so many notebooks right now, I could write for 3 years and not use them all! I sure get excited about those sale prices. I have been hoping for more this Sunday. But, I just realized that this is the week we are going to West Palm Beach for a few days. Maybe they'll have some sales there...

They are awesome aren't they! My daughter is starting kindergarten Aug. 11. So in the last few days we have been enjoying a bit of a shopping adventure. I think it makes her look forward even more to going to school.

Same with me samijo719, our kids are grown up. The Staples deals are just awesome. I've got enough notebooks and file folders to send 5 kids to school! My husband thinks I'm silly but then he's right in there with me saying, "I can't pass up 4 highlighters for a $1.00!" We are sure having a blast with those sale prices, samijo719. Glad you are, too.

Greetings vimaal.
The school supply sales lately cannot be beat! I've bought quite a few notebooks and paper file folders as well as mini staplers. I haven't been in the Walmart but I understand they've had some great deals also. I've gotten all my deals at Staples. Thank you for commenting. Take care.

There have been some good sales around here lately too. Then Kmart had 24 count crayola crayons for 25 cents...wowsa. I still have a few things my son needs, but on those items i stocked up and put awy for next school yr, i dont have alot of storage room, but for those kinds of savings, ill make room..lol

Hello faln_angel1205.
I know, isn't it so cool to be able to buy something for a nickel? I just about went nuts in Staples taking advantage of all the deals in there. And, there just aren't hardly any kids in our family anymore so I didn't buy crayons and most of the stuff. But the notebooks, we do use, so I've got plenty of those now. Yes, I know what you mean--it's wise to find the storage space under the bed or tucked back in the corner of a closet. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

Sometimes I wished I lived in the US. In Jamaica a ruled notebook is for$120 Jamaican dollars that is equivalent to $1.80 US dollars. So I have to ask my friends to buy school supplies for my children and then post them to me. But sometimes it cost too much at the post office because of the weight. I am so jealous of you guys to be able to get crayons and staples at such ridiculous prices.Thumbs up to you!
