I am collecting DVD box sets of my favorite 60's and 70's shows. Nothing on these days worth watching muchless buying. But that is just me....what box sets are you collecting? Do you collect the box set of shows you currently watch as they come out or wait till they cancel ths show and wait for them to come out? Do you watch a current show as it airs AND your box set of previous seasons?

I like to wait until the season is over to get the box set. It makes it easier to watch all of it together.

I really enjoy makig a "weekend" of it...take all seasons and just watch them back to back all weekend long! I have done that with I Love Lucy and Gilmore Girls and it is alot of fun. I did it part weekend with Gomer Pyle USMC,which they ony have season 1 and 2 and laughed till I was silly - but it was so much fun!

Yeah, that's the way to do it. I like doing that with "The Office" and "heroes". It took me a while to get around to them, but it's so much better to watch it all at once...

I never did for a long time, but then there came some series that we really enjoyed and didn't have the chance of watch most of the time so we did get the NCIS .
Other than that we don't have any other box sets of tv shows, although I would like to have the M*A*S*H series. Don't know if that collection exists or not, but I would consider buying it.

I think I've seen MASH box sets - I shop Amazon.com and Target mainly - just watch the sales. I don't pay more than $15 for a season. THey all come to that price sooner or later, I just bid my time! I don't like any of hte crime shows. Both my kids are police officers and I hear enough, I don't want to have to watch more on TV!!! But I have seen MASH out there - just watch for the sales.

I have bought Nip/Tuck and I want to buy Friends. I wouldn't mind having Three's Company and Leave it to Beaver for my b/f.

I see Nip and Tuck are stil on tv -I should watch that and see what it's all about! I could never stand Friends - but my daughter loves it and has all seasons and watches it constantly. And I am thinking about Leave it to Beaver too. It is on all the time on TV land and I watch it, but just not really wanting to buy. Might if I see a season for really cheap. Three's company was really funny, although I did like it better with Don Knotts instead of the "Furleys". I loved John Ritter - sorry to have seen him go so young.

I liked Three's Company with Don Knott's better too and John Ritter is a sad loss.

If music is your preference, go for it! Nothing wrong with that. Not much on regular TV to bother wasting you time watching anyway! That is one reason I am collecting hte "good" shows - so I have something to watch!

Is it not legal to download them? I am not at all familiar with all that kind of stuff. I never pay full price...for anything. If it isn't on sale or I don't have a coupon, I dont' buy it! I watch Amazon.com for the box sets for $15 and Target (the back wall) for their sales. I can wait them all out!

I watch Amazon.com for the sales - about $15 per season. THey all come on sale sooner or later! I do a survey site that pays in Amazon.com gift card and I currently have $30 sitting there waiting to use, just haven't found what I want yet. I am serioudly thinking of getting the first seson of original Star Trek series - Loved that show and Captain Kirk - one the days I wasn't lovin' Scotty!

I collect the seasons of shows I like! The oldest shows I have so far are Welcome Back Kotter, All in The Family and The Jeffersons. I mainly ask for my show dvd's at Christmas time, but I have bought a few at other times. I only have a few newer shows I watch, and m favorite show that is still airing I get the season pass for on i-tunes every season, the only downside is, I really would like to get the dvd sets for the extended scenes, but I hate to pay for it again! Eventually I probably will though. But yea, for most shows I get the dvd's and the newer ones that are released on i-tunes I buy on there and sync to my i-pod, it's much easier for me because I just hook it up to my tv! I don't know if I will ever go completely digital, but I definitely intend on keeping up my tv collection. Until recently I constantly had my i-pod hooked up and watched my shows on there, but I've gotten into some new shows, that are on i-tunes, but WAY too expensive for me to get right now.

Ya lost me on all your i-pods and i-tunes - just not to that point of knowledge yet! But it is just fun to have your favorites to turn on and watch whenever you want to turn them on and watch them! I had forgotten about Welcome Back Kotter -that was hilarious. I'll have to add that one to my wish list. I just wait on Amazon.com till they are on sale for $15, shop Target (on the back walls) for their sales (usually on movies more than box sets) and time will bring them all to me!!!

I only have one set. It is the HBO series S*x and the City. I loved that show. I am glad to own it. I am certain I will find others I want to own. Just right now money is tight. And I haven't come across another I wish to own.

Hey ersmommy1 - I didn't care at all for that show, but my daughter loves it and is collecting - thing is she just saves till she gets the nearly $50 they cost instead of waiting till they go on sale at Amazon.com or Target. She is bad about that! I have not paid more than $15 for any box set of a season. And I have seen that series for about $22 - probably won't go much cheaper for awhile expecially since that movie came out but give it time and watch the sales!

The only boxed set I ahve is of seindfeld. I dont know why I wanted it becasue I have seen all the shows on TV at least 3 or4 times. It gives you some background on the shows which I find interesting, but I actually would like to sell this set. If there are any takers send me a pm. Just kidding. I'd like to get teh Sopranos possbily.

IT is nice to have your favs and pull them out in a few months and have a movie night! Some are still on re-runs so we see them there but many aren't on tv anymore. I love the sitcoms from 60's and 70's.

My fiance and I are big into collecting the box sets of our favorite TV shows. We have many of them. However we do perfer to get the box set when it comes available on DVD box sets. Those are usually the best times to get them. As well alot of them we have racked up points for so we use our points to get box sets and alot of movies. Some of them that we collect are: Married With Children, Law & Order, Law & Order:CI, Law & Order: SVU, Without a Trace, Cold Case, One Tree Hill, Ghost Whisper, Grey's Anatomy, Beverly Hills 90210, ER, and many many others. For those nights that the Satelite knocks out due to high winds, rain, snow and sleet or just because we want to watch them we have many to choose from and the best part is no commericals.

It is just fun to watch those shows without commercials and for the entire evening if you want to! I am not into any that you mention but box sets just make it more fun to watch the shows in order. No waiting till next week to see the continuation or the next chapter.

I collect box sets of older movies and series, not the current shows. Though I am educated in English, I collect Chinese movies and series(from Hong Kong) and the only English box sets I bought were the past seasons of CSI.
My husband would buy English action movies while my dad collects the James Bond series.

I have a few older movies - Final Countdown, Titanc, GWTW, Star Trek4, Long Long Trailer and a few others. They are fun to watch. My son used to love the James Bond movies with Sean Connery and I recorded themall when they came on TV. I am considerting buying them for him on DVD for christmas. I dont watch tv hardly at all these days. Just nothing worth wasting my time - seriously, the shows these days are pathetic and I just have to wonder why people think they are so great...s*x, killing, sleeping wit whoever....even the comdey sitcoms are like that. I wathc the food network, History channel and such.

I am in love with 21 Jump Street and the only way I can get the show is by box sets. Well, at least I don't have to wait for a certain ep to come out, I can watch it all at one time and slaver over Johnny Depp! yay!

I remember Jump Street being quite popular. I never watched it - but it seemed to be the rage! And those kinds are coming back these days. Nice to see the good 'ol stuff come back when there is nothing but trash on TV!

I don't really. because I am not on watching nowadays. I am busy with a lot of things that I only watch for news once in awhile. But as soon as I got ample time again, I will start watching movies and tv shows again.

No rush, there isn't anything worth wasting your time on on regular tv, Izathewiza. I only watch the HIstory Channel, Discovery Channel, home improvement shows and TVland and FoodNetwork!

Most of the boxed sets I seek all belong to cancelled shows, most are finished, some are still running.
SUPERNATURAL
X-FILES
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
HEROES

Yeah, majestic, I don't have any of current shows - nothing on tV these days worth watching! Gilmore Girls is the only recently current set I have. Sitcoms from the 60's and 70's are my favories. I just wait till they go on sale.

I buy a lot of DVD boxed sets for shows I love. I really like to have something on in the background when I'm doing things at home and when I'm not in a music mood, these really come in handy.

letsbakeacake - yeah, sometimes you just need some background noise! I know my grand daughter is like that. She doesn't watch hardly any tv here - has to many other things to do, but sometimes, she'll ask for something (usually Blue's Clue's) and I'll put it on, but notice she doesn't stop what she is doing to sit and watch. I think she just need the noise in the back ground and her parents (divorced so 2 homes) always have the TV on and she might just be used to the noise and need it!
