I made some yesterday, and everyone liked the dish, but I was just curious how everyone else prepares this. Do you have a favorite way you would like to share? #:)

I'm sort of embarrassed to admit it, but I have no idea what bangers and mash is. Please explain! Maybe it's just something we call by a different name around here.

Yeah, It's sausage and spuds, that's what my hubby calls it. The "Bangers" I had were made of pork and bread crumbs, with seasoning, and I used the little red potatoes kind of mashed, because I like them. To go on top I made an Onion gravy. It was SO GOOOOD!!!!! #:)

Thanks. Now that I know what it is, I try variations, such as mashed sweet potatoes, or a variety of types of sausage mixed together. There are fabulous gourmet sausages that are a whole new world of flavor. I have chicken sausages in the fridge made with garlic and dill. There's also turkey sausage made with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. A small change makes it a whole new meal.

With bangers you can fry them with a little ( teaspoon ) of curry in the oil and with the mash add finely chopped onions when hot. Also saute white onions, chopped together with bell pappers also chopped and then add the bangers to cook to taste.

I just checked to see and you are in Washington? I was way off. I was sure you were British or Australian. The name of the meal is so much fun. I have limited sausage here since I don't have a butcher shop and rely on the grocery store for italian sausage, Bob Evans brown and serve, and that sort of stuff. Probably not even close huh?

Well I actually got lucky. At my grocery store apparently nobody had a clue what Bangers are. So they were all marked down to 99cents for a package of 4 British Bangers! So of course I bought several! My hubby thought they were small Knockwurst. The first thing that went through my head was "Bangers and Mash"! I don't know where I've even had this before. I think I will try a breakfast version this weekend. It should be interesting........#:)
