Wrong information is conveyed about Global Warming to General Public.
Many people say that Global Warming will destroy the earth.
This is totally wrong.
Global warming will only destroy "human".
Human has not capacity to destroy earth.

Absolutely. If we exploded every single atomic bomb ever made simulataneously, it wouldn't destroy the Earth. It'd barely feel it; it's had much worse from asteroid impacts in the past and shrugged it off. The only thing that'll destroy the earth is the Sun changing sequence in about 5 billion years.

Thanks Wolfechu, I agree with you comment.
Do you think Global Warming is an issue at all?

Wolfechu, if global warming is man made than the process to reverse it is very easy. Plant more tree, reduce the use of electricity, air conditioners, refrigerators, motor cars, aeroplanes, jet planes.

Oh, definitely. But then, I'm 'enjoying' my first Midwest summer at the minute; heat index of 115F today. Weather getting warmer kind of preys on my mind a little. ;)
But yeah, it's definitely a concern. I suspect we'll look back in hindsight and realise the damage was already done, though. I've a nagging suspicion we're past the point of no return, it'll just take a couple of decades to kick in.

You are absolutely right global warming can destroy the living beings, humans included but it cannot destroy earth. It can bring major changes in the contours of earth, such as earth will have more of water as compared to land area as there would be melting of ice. But I feel the organisms which are thermolabile or those who would be able to tolerate the extremes of temperatures might survive.

Sunita, don't you think that ice is a form of water. I think global warming is a natural process. I think human does not have that much power to melt the ice on this earth. Ice on earth was not formed by human nor it will melt by human.

Hello,Rajesh! You are right.global warming will not destroy the earth, but some parts of the earth will be submerged and people would perish. It is not happening in this earth for the first time.earlier so many civilizations have been destroyed and new came up as we are in this stage and it will also extinct in due time and new one will come up from the old.this the process of evolution. As an Indian you better understand this situation.thanx.

bbsr13, you are absolutely correct that may civilizations have perished and I add here that it was not due to global warming.
