Got doubly sick with allergic rhinitis and acute sinusitis

The airconditioning unit at work got really crazy and spewed dust that we could taste and the temperatures were at 16C. Plus the motto of BPOs these days is: The ACs are for the machines/computers not for the people. What happens when these two factors combine? Well, combined sickness of course. So here I am, diagnosed with both allergic rhinitis and acute sinusitis trying to stop the cold from entering my system. My head aches from the illness and my mind is drowsy because of the medicines which cost me about 4 days worth of work (Php 2000) and I was absent for three days. And all because the company wouldn't change the stupid setting of the AC, with its vent incidentally over my desk. This work is literally killing me.

Yo,feeman! I've got tonsilitis! HUhuhuhuh... and i've got news about the aircon. After it was cleaned a few days ago, it realized that all these years it had been prtetending to be an AC. It's now a heater. So dont bring jacket to work today, it's really hot. And funny you mentioned what the ugly panda says evrytime we complain 'bout the aircon. The company has a twisted way of viewing us. In terms of production, they think we're machines and demand for the all-important speed. But even machines are treated better than us. Whew!

What a coincidence! I talked with panda a while ago and she said that she had experienced what I have been through this past week when she was sitting on my place a long time ago. :-(

HI! Im also having allergic rhinitis and its been almost a year now. I am having medications though it help me feel better but it does not really remove the allergies. I knew how hard it is and it is really annoying to work when your allergy attacks.

Yes, it really is very hard to work with allergies. I'm glad that my allergies are not as severe as the days before. What medications are you taking? The doctor gave me Clarinase and Cefuroxime.

it is better if you really consult and talk with your doctor because doctors knows what's best for you.

I have already consulted a doctor and he gave me two sets of medicine. My new problem now is that I have developed allergies to one of the medicines :-(

i think that those types of conditions are definitely something to take up to higher management about, if possible. it doesn't have to be freezing to keep the computers at a decent temperature. i lie in the united states, in california were we also have out fair share of heat, and while there are certain differences in our climate, heat is still heat. anyway, my main point is this: computers can stand room temperature.

Unfortunately for us the top management wouldn't listen to stuff like this. We have brought this thing up but the response? The ACs are for the computers, not for the people. That says it all.

I have been taking two kinds of medication: one for the allergic rhinitis and one for the acute sinusitis. They cost a lot. The total is equivalent to about 4 days worth of work. And since I was absent for a good number of days, the medicines can't be paid by the salary that I would get from those days ;O) But it's alright. My new problem now is that I have developed complications to the medicines and started having this little white-heads-looking stuff all over my face.
