Difference between VGA and MP camera in a mobile.

I have three handsets with camera but I am afriad I do not know anything about the types of cameras in them.

dear friend, there is any different between VGA camera and MP camera. the difference happened in pixels of pictures that they generated. MP camera generates more pixels and it makes the pictures seem clearly than VGA camera result. The mobile phone which has facility to use 3G as video calling will have both camera which are VGA in front and MP in back front. For video calling, it will use VGA camera cause it doesn't make many pixels as like MP camera and it will work better in 3G usage, not too heavy to upload our face while use video call

Dpk, From what little knowledge that I have on this subject the difference is in the number of pixels. The VGa I think has lesser than 1Mega pixels while the MP cameras have multiples of 1 Mp. I could be wrong.

Video Graphics Array (VGA)is a basic & primary level which is 640x480.. 0.3 MP (mega pixels),there is also 1mp, 1,1. and 1.2 and 1.3 MP cameras out there I believe. Not a whole lot diff in pic quality. 1.3Megapixels the resolution is 1280 X 960. Or something like that.. Hey, the point that alokn has presented is absolutely correct. If your camera resolution is less than 1MP it is VGA, and if it is more than that then it is 1.0 ...etc. The higher the mega pixels of a camera the better the photo quality. a camera with 1.28 mega pixels camera takes a pictures with the width of 1280 pixels so it is larger and better quality. I hope you understand it now.

i think it differs in resolution. if its less than 1 mega pixel, its vga. otherwise its denoted in Mega oixels. so Mega pixels are better.

main difference is quality VGA is very basic, ( alot crappier than MP ) MP (Mega Pixel) turns out a lot better than VGA, type cameras use. The higher the MP, the better the pictures come out on the phone and/or when u put on the computer. MP VGA hope i helped =]
