why are women considered - not to keep secrets?

There is a small joke going around in a forum: One woman to another: "Why, no, I didn't tell that to anyone--I did not know it was a secret!". This indicates women are never to be relied with secrets. What is your opinion? Please share.

it is the society which protrait women in taht way. it is male dominating society. so its taken as granted taht all bad things are done by women only.

well, you remind me of the abbreviation .. M.C.P, called male chauvenistic pig. I am not a MCP, nor am I a feminist, But.. IN practice, I can vouch for my topic. That women can seldom be relied with secrets. They have well too many friends. and they keep sharing the news. Sorry, if it hurts .. May I add you as a friend?

depending up on my personal experience i learned that it is impossible for a women to handle a secret, thats why i agree with the old proverb

Yes I agree with you but I would also say that I am not condemning women. They are a very essential part of our lives. As men are men by thinking about new girls, women do have some weakness and that is to keep secrets.

That's kind of up in the air. I know that I can keep a secret. My head is about to explode with so many secrets that I can not tell anyone. I do not know about other women, whether it is gossip or was it meant to be kept a secret. My husband can not keep anything to himself. I always have to say to him do not say anything. He rather not be told something that he can not repeat

To my opinion, wemon always think the secret of themselves as secret, others are not. They will let out others' secret easily. So when you have secret, don't think weman can keep it. You'd better not let them know, Or everyone will know.

That's not true, women can be trusted with secrets. Just tell her that it is a secret, so that she wont tell anybody about it. But I do agree that there are some women who are very talkative, they can't be trusted.

I think it really depends from women to women. but yes most of women can't keep a secret. I must say that they are not just considered,,but they really are like this. and that's how they are made i think. peace.

well, raman, you were very diplomatic. Your concluding remark "PEACE" confirms that. MAY we all know into what profession you are? lol. You would make a very nice diplomat, and I BLESS you that you will have a nice marraige. I mean, your wife will be damn happy lady. But,becareful. Dont ever share your very personal secrets with her (lol, take it as a joke only) now, as you said, it might depend from person to person, but as a gender... I again dare say, WOMEN are more likely to share secrets. PEACE .. lols.

lol,thanks lol,what can i do???,if a get this type of feeling that they cant keep secrets. well,no solid reason comes to my mind that why they are like this. but the only reason that i think can be is that they get more time to gossip than men.i cant say about other countries,but in india most of the women are housewifes, and after completing their work,the only timepass ladies have is to gather and talk. so secrets come by itself. but yes i also believe a bit that they are made like this too. peace...lol

I think that this forum shouldn't be any indication of women and their ability to keep a secret. It is too much of a generalization. I personally won't tell a secret that was told to me in confidence. Secrets do need to be respected.
