Why we feel happy while listening music ?

well if its a depressing song then NO it doesnt make me happy lol..

Well I don't know any scientific side of it but I'm sure there is. For me maybe because we can relate to the lyrical content as well as the beat of the song. The rhythm are a factor too since it makes our mind relax and calm.

Surely...music relaxes you...its because our nerves relax...also the4 music helps us to forget our tensions and problems..though temporarily..its the best medicine to be tensionless...without any side effects....:)...right ???

It must be something biological, ingrained in our systems through years of evolution. I think we enjoy the sounds of certain voices, the sounds of certain instruments. Just as there are visually pleasing things (such as smiles, eyes, and all those things that make babies laugh, like their mother's face or something like that), there are aurally pleasing things.

there are many factors of it... one of the internal factor is the hormones in our body... it stimulant some chemicals so we fell happy...

i think it is the happy beats or the cheerful songs that makes us happy. i dont know why but music always seems to make me happy and helps me to relax. there is something about music that makes you happy and makes you want to just get up and dance no matter where you are. i think thats why they made and still make music because it tends to make people happy. dodgeman
