what to read first in newspaper

when i was responding to discussions involving the preference of either newspaper or e-paper, it came to my mind about what article or column in a certain newspaper you read first?
well, every time i had a newspaper on my hand, i take a quick glance on the front page and the picture. if it captures my attention or there's something on it that captures me to read it then i'll start from there. but often times i always flip it and start reading the sports news and commentaries at the back. as if i'm reading backwards, i'll start from the back going to the front. hahaha how silly is that?
so, how about you? are you doing the same thing? or you start at the front and finished it the normal way? or you flip at the center or where the showbiz is located?

I read the editorial section first. I love this section in the
newspaper. Then i read sports and headline news. Sometimes, I just
scan all the pages and if i like something i read it. I do read
some showbiz news if it is worth my time.

i usually read the editorial lasts and the columns there in. i usually found something very interesting with in in and worth the time to read that you're no in a hurry. yeah, i do skip some sections too, like the horoscope and all those cartoon thing. it might be the spicy of the paper but i don't just read it and pay much of the time. showbiz is the last things i would read when there's nothing to read anymore and i still have much time to spend.

Same here. The horoscope and the cartoon sections are the last portions I read. Often times I skip them on my first reading in the morning. Usually I get back to them during lunch time, that is after I am done reading the important ones.

Well, I think it depends on the reader. But I think there is a general practice that we do once we get hold of the newspaper. This is actually the general practice done as categorized on being a male or a female. As you can see, most males read the front page first and then go to the last page. The reason, they are more of whats happening daily and would want to be updated, thus they read the front page. Then they tend to go to the last page to read the sprots section, considering that males are more sports minded and usually have some sports team or game to watch for. As for the females, they tend to go to the middle section right away. Their target, the celebrity section, and the horoscope. Well, I do hope I am right on my observation. When I read a real newspaper, not the online version It is usually the Sunday edition I am reading. I will scan the front page like you and read anything that interests me, but then I usually will go to the funnies and read those. Then it is on to the entertainment section to read, the dear Abby type columns and the arts section. I save the coupons to to through later. I don't often read a real newspaper anymore cause you can get them online for just about everywhere.

i believe you are fit on the description that JPSO have mentioned and i am guessing (without looking at your profile) that you are a female. with all honesty, i am also would try to check on the likes of dear abby thingy when and after everything has been done looking around. sometimes there are just funny thoughts in there and a situation or two to learn.
