Have you ever woke up with a terrible headache? Well, I did. Just this morning, I felt that I can't get out of my bed. Ouch!!! My head really hurts. I was wondering why and suddenly I remember, I fell asleep while my hair is still wet. It is my habit of taking a bath before bed time. I think that's the cause, because I checked my blood pressure, it's quite normal, I checked my sugar level, it's quite normal too. Now, I'm in the mood here in mylot and yet, I can't focus. Ooooh, that feels terrible. As much as I wanted to respond, I can't sit up for a long time. Please friends bear with me if I have not responded to your post. I'll try to do it when I'm ok. Your notifications are still intact on my email.
How about you? Had this happened to you? Have you fallen asleep with a wet hair? What do you do when you have a headache? Do you force yourself? or Do you take a rest?
Keep posting my friends. HUGZ!

Oh, that really hurts sis. I've experienced it too. Just like you, I am used to taking a bath before bedtime. Since that terrible headache that I experienced, I've seen to it, that I just take a shower and just take a bath in the morning. Try to drink pain reliever or drink coffee. Hope you'll get well soon. Take care.

Early morning headache, unless have the company of vomiting, dizziness or visual obscurations are usually benign in nature as far I know. Headache can be benign or can be taken as signs of underlying disease conditions. Strong family history of migraine is very important to know. Better have a general check-up from Neurologist if you are getting further recurrence in future. Do you get good sleep, do you snore, did you had choking spells while sleeping. Cause hypercarbia (Increased CO2 conc. in blood) is one of the common cause for early morning headaches. Hope this information will be helpful for you. Please let me know if I can help you in this matter.

Hi dhangski,
I have not tried that and night time I will only take half bath so I will not be waiting for my hair to dry! I have no tried sleeping with wet hair!
I hope you will feel better and maybe next time, do it earlier to give you more time to dry your hair before sleeping!

You wont believe what a hot cup of tea or coffee can do for a headache. Try it out sometimes. It is very refreshing and a big help when your head is splitting. Luckily I dont have an ac in my room, so even if I sleep with wet hair, its ok. If you have and AC in your room, then the chances of catching a very bad cold and sinus is there. so be careful. Return HUGZ.

I've slept with wet hair before, but never got a headache from it, but I have gotten a headache from sleeping with my head tilted wrong or on a pillow that is too high. It could also be that your potassium was low or that you were on the verge of a period (I always got them then). I hope that your headache didn't last too long that day (considering I'm a bit late in responding).

Hi, hope you are feeling better now!
I have fallen asleep before with wet hair; the only problem I woke up with, is my hair curling left and right - totally unmanageable! So far falling asleep with wet hair hasn't given me headaches.
However, I have woke up a few times, with terrible headaches - I actually felt like the room was spinning around me. I think it's low pressure. Anyway, I'd not move from the bed - until 1-2 hours later, I'd feel better, though a bit wozzy!
And if I have been drinking the night before, I'd definitely wake up with a headache! So the best remedy is sleep!

I've slept with wet hair before but I have never experienced that yet. I do get headaches sometimes after waking up especially when it is quite cold. Also I get it when I oversleep. When i have headaches I try first to relax and do some deep breathing. Maybe this video might help you http://www.expertvillage.com/video/80732_relieve-headaches-facial-calisthenics.htm?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=yssp&utm_campaign=yssp_mainvids
Get well soon

oh it sucks soo bad to wake up with a headache . I personally just do not want to get out of bed. Yes i do find that a cit of coffee helps . Sometimes it is a caffeine headache , and that is when you are actually getting caffeine withdrawal with in itself is not good for you. I found when I feel lagged out and have a major headache , eating a small spoonful of my favorite honey , I prefer orange blossom honey , works wonders and I do not have to resort to the medicine cabinet. If the headache does persist , I will run a bubble bath. Turn off all the lights in the bathroom , because bright lights will make it even worse. I will light unscented candles. The scented ones can actually cause your sinuses to flare a bit and make it worse so unscented is the way to go . Then relax in the hot water . It works out the tensions and the stiffness in your back and neck . Since most headaches begin with stress this will help ease that stress and is a great relaxing way to start or end the day . I do hope you feel better soon , please take care.

hi dhangski!
that happened to me a couple of times before. sometimes it would be because of a hangover, sometimes it would be because of lack of sleep, sometimes because of illness. i would always fight it and not stay on bed because staying on bed would only make it worse. i would get up, sometimes take a bath first before eating breakfast or sometimes the other way around so i can take a medicine. but most of the time, i prefer not to take any medicine. i'd rather take a rest until the pain goes away. actually after taking a bath, i would feel slightly okay and i would need a little rest.

Does it affect one's health when we sleep with wet hair?? I only heard rumours about it from my parents, but i have not done it b4.. hehe ^_^ But still i'm confused, how does wet hair end up with headache??
Or maybe is it due to the way u sleep?? Din have a proper sleep at night and thus causing the terrible headache??

Honestly when I fall asleep with wet hair, I just wake up with messy hair. I've never noticed a connection with a headache before. But when I do get a bad one, I take either tylenol or advil right away. Seems like the longer I wait, the less impact the medicing has on it. But I don't get really, really bad headaches as a rule, thank goodness!
Feel better!

Often times I take a bath late and sleep with wet hair but this never happened to me. By any chance did you lie down for a long time or oversleep? I think that kind of headache comes from that... When the body gets so used to that position and you suddenly stand up. We get headaches from that, have you experienced that? If not, I don't really know the scientific explanation with the headache involved with sleeping with wet hair. Anyway, hope you're okay now my friend! Rest well and don't force yourself. It may come from stress too. Take care!
