Windows or Linux is more safe for internet browsing?

Hi! Friends.
I was surfing internet from my windows xp from years.
but sometime my PC got virus effected.Now I am using
Internet from my Linux.and it's working fine.I don't get
any problem for browsing internet.
so,What you think Windows or Linux is more safe for internet browsing?

I also use Linux right now. It is virus free. It is definitely safer to surf the net using Linux compared to Windows especially when downloading from the Internet.

Yeah you are right.
I think downloading speed is also little better
in linux.
