what and where is your best summer get-away?

We don't live near a beach. I wish we did! So I have to settle for the lake. I just love to spend the day swimming, fishing, and just enjoying the nice warm weather. I don't much care for the mosquitos when we go at night though. lol.

Our favorite summer getaway is a small campground about 45 minutes from our house. We love going there, tent camping, and we take the dog with us. She loves it because there is a pond and creek for her to play in. And it's nice just to get away for the weekend, no phones, no tv, and we usually take a book along to get in some reading.

I would say to me the best place for a Summer getaway and the only place that I would really want to go over the Summer is Myrtle Beach because there is so much to do there,and it is a lot of fun,and I remember how me and my parents used to go there every Summer,and I wish we still did it,even though with the prices of gas and food it is hard to afford taking a trip to the beach,and the hotel prices.
