i need help fixin my 94 caravan se it uses too much gas

it runs good but likes to use half atank once in awile on short trips less than twenty miles . is there a way to check it without scannin at the dealer like aflash code trick like fords or does some know is the cause ie map sensor or o2 sensor on a budjet or id farm outthe work please help asap paul

check the fuel sensor, it might need to be just blown out.
