Are dogs more clever and trainable than cats?

I'm not sure of the cleverer part, However am of the opinion that it is easier to train dogs. I think that I feel that way because we see the response.

Cats are very independent so harder to train but if you can you can have the best security guards ever! LOL

My cat passed away last yr. at the age of 20 but when she was alive she would play fetch if you rolled up a foil candy wrapper, you throw it she would run and bring it back and put it on you feet. my step father would get on the floor like he was doing sit ups and pat the floor and tell her to come on let exercise and she would flop over on her back and they would do sit ups together.

I think dogs are pretty smart and that is why they are trainable but at the same time the way I see it is cats are smarter than dogs because they will not let you train them and be their master,while dogs will do what you tell them,and it reminds me of a saying,dogs have masters,cats have staff,dogs come when they are called,and cats will take a message and call you back.

as i told you before dear friend dogs need a lot of effort but they deserve this effort you could count on them in guarding and doing a lot of thing but kats only for fans of cats I'm one of them for sure but i discovered that i need my dog more than i need my cat . and in critical situations i only call my dog name never mention my cat name in situations like this . lol otherwise me and her will be in the same hospital lol . you know many time you could face criminals and other ppl whom could hurt you and if your dog not trained i think you will face the problem alone with no help and this could be very dangerous also if you left your car in a place you don't used to left it in . dogs could do a lot if they are trained well and safe your properties so the answer yes only dogs which need to training cause it is the one you will need it trained in many situations . good luck and happy posting dear friend keep posting and we will keep comments . c u latter

Dogs are trainable than cats because according to studies they treat human as master and the most important being in their life while cats see human as a personal assistant, that's why only some are trained. I hate cats because of their mentality.

I think dogs are trainable and more faithful, where as cats are lovely and claver.
