Todays news lines read of how Iraq has made billions on our
suffering over the price of gas. In horror I have read that we have put ourselves into this deficit mainly due to this war and America rebuilding Iraq. Aren't we in a war over there as we speak? Am I the only one that considers it ignorant to spend our time and money over there when they are "socking it to us" over the price of oil?
This has to be about the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard in
politics. We rebuilt 'Nam, because it was a war with no reason behind it and
I am beginning to think this war is one and the same.

There are people that agree with you out there. The war in Iraq is all about oil, all about greed, and all about money. While my heart goes out to the boys and girls in uniform who are fighting for us, my opinion remains that this war is unjust. And the fact that monies that could be better used here at home to help create jobs, affordable housing, and alternative forms of energy, are sent overseas.
And you know what else I can't seem to understand? Why the Dems won't stand up to the President and say, "Enough is enough." People are starving right here in America. There are people--like myself--who can't afford insurance, who can't afford to put gas in their car--and can't even afford a car.
Everyone who does not have a job and can't make ends meet is not lazy. There is what is called the working poor. They get ignored.
And what if it is true that our President lied to get us in this war? Should not he have his day in court too, just like anyone else?
I think we should be more discerning about what we get ourselves into. I don't say America should adopt an isolationist approach to things--I just think we should learn to better pick our battles, and any president who is less than truthful with us and does something like get us into an unjust war should have to face consequences for his actions. Any and all legal means to bring such a president to justice should be employed, just as the case with any private citizen.

I hear you and agree to what you are saying.
Maybe we should have a bit more of a isolation approach
and take care of our homeland and make it strong, again.
To me, our current admimis., the money "folks" behind our
NY Stock Exchange and the fact that all states don't tax
the same has really put us where we are.
We need change, but I don't see either of the candidates
as being the right choice.
