I know that all WWF fans like me know this and accept this in their minds that WWF was cool and much better than WWE which is more of a drama these days rather than anything which is actually interesting. I still remember those classic golden days of Stone cold, the Rock, the big red machine Kane, Undertaker ya ya .... A lot used to happen then and it was much more eventful and entertaining than what WWE is today. While in those days a lot more number of matches were fought, today in WWE only a few matches can be seen and the fight too looks fake. The results look pre-planned and gotup! And there's more drama than any real action. So all WWF fans lets come together and discuss on this.

WWF and WWE is the same thing. The only thing that has changed is the name. WWF was a trademark by the World Wildlife Fund. They were sueing the McMahons hence why it is now called WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Wrestling has always been a drama show. They know at least 2 months in advance of the story line. They have to. They are actors and actresses as well. The reason why there is so much drama is cause they play them out so bad that it gets boring and then turns very unentertaining.

I totally agree! I really used to love WWE when it was still WWF. I don't know why they have to do those drama acting. It may appeal to some but not really for me. At least when they had a tour on our country, they spared us with that and wrestled on. I love the Bret Heart, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels era.

I believe that there are a lot more drama scenes now than there were when it was WWF and I believe that the wrestling is not as good as it was then. However, I also believe that the caliber of wrestler has diminished some from what there was in WWF early years.

I love the days of the WWF. The matches seem to be more inpactfull.
The storylines were awesome and well placed for the most part.
The colors of the wrestlers costumes were brighter, like someone on acid designed them. SWEET!The formulas were simple and well placed. Not everyone was real good, but the crowd chanted for the underdog. The big guys were a staple of the WWF. Most of the wrestlers were bigger than life even the little guys.
A few Example:Tag teams:
Natural Disasters
Power and Glory
Demolition
Singles:
The Ultimate Warrior
Hulk Hogan
Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Hacksaw Jim Dummy, I mean Duggan (Sorry Hacksaw, may daughter said that once trying to say the name and it stuck ever since)
IRS
Ted Debiase
Honkytonk Man
Rick Rude
Underdogs:
1,2,3 Kid
Barry Horowitz
Iron Mike Sharp
Awesome gimmicks for flavor:
Papa Shango
Texas Tornado
Mr. Perfect
I could go on forever, but I will stand down. You see back then, it was a fight to be the best. NWA, WWCW, and AWA were on their heels for placement. This forced the WWF to be more creative.
Once WWF bought out the main competition this changed the fate of wrestling for some time to come. They had all of the cards, either you watched what they gave you or you watched nothing. No more 3 hour RAW broadcasts, shortened PPV lengths.
Sure TNA is trying to make the difference, but they are falling very short. Everytime I watch wrestling I can't help but compare it to the wrestling of a earlier era.
What the WWE needs is a major competitive wake-up call. Once they get that, we, the fans will receive the WWF(E), that we miss so much.

Yes, the storylines were indeed superb and quite engaging for the show. By the way, you forgot to include D-X in there. Their incarnations and reincarnations may be not so great, but there was something about the team that really turns me on. :p

I know what you mean by saying WWE is all drama now-a-days. It's much much more hyped about show in the world I guess. I loved those old days of WWF. Sometimes, I just don't find it too interesting in here and switch to another channel when some match is still going on. I mean we love only the superstars themselves today. Not what they deliver in the ring may be.
It's just a personal observation. Don't know how you guys feel about it. Will love to know more about your take in this regard.
Happy mylotting.
