Its true that people feel the pressure when they face the audience. And when it is required to debate on a particular topic, say in an interview or some TV program, they have to adopt different tactics to overcome that anxity or internal pressure in their mind.
They say that when you face the audience or group of people do not think of their presence or think that they are your friends. This will reduce the pressure. I do this only.
How about you? Share your experiences.

i like debating and some of the thing that i do while debating ..
first thing is to just relax sometime close my eyes or jus look around.
and think that all who are in are just a bunch of fools (may sound funny but works)
than i built my confidence by thinking that i know more than any of them.
but seriously it defer from person to person as such what is applicable to me may not be applicable to others as well.

Whether it is a debate or any form of public speaking, one of the good things to do is to look just above them and not straight into their faces. Further it normally with the first few words that you will feel a sort of anxiety or nervousness. Once you go on your confidence will build.
