there's no way to retreive it if it's way too broken. next time make at least 3 backup copies of the files on your memory card. burn it on a dvd. i guess the best way is to get over it and buy a new one.

OMG, how did you manage to do it!!
I feel, we should be careful to keep it safe if it doesn't come in a case. And also thats shouldn't be the only backup storage device. we should keep back ups....So backups, backups, backups....how many more backups we need to keep, I wonder.
Was it a branded one? If yes then it must have been expensive!
Never mind these things happen and makes us wiser.

I'm thinking that you have "micro-sd" card... Most of the micro-sd cards come with an adopter when you buy them... Put it in adopter & try putting it in your computer & see if it will recognize it... If you don't have an adopter, you're gonna need a new memory card anyway so buy a new card, use the adopter that comes with the new one, & try it in your computer... If it doesn't work in your computer, I don't know any other way to retrieve the data... Try to be more careful next time & with the new one, always back up the important photos, like by emailing it to yourself or linking your phone to the computer & dumping it to hard drive...
