What's your strategy in motivating your kids to seriously study?

Kids today are too exposed with so many activities that distract their concentration from their studies. This greatly divide their energies wherein the much more important academics are not treated as their priority. There is also too much extra-curricular activities that further decrease their attention to reading, writing and mathematics. How do you handle this kind of situation with your children?

Actually, I haven't had a child. But I'm a teacher, exactly home schooling teacher. So... the best way to solve your problem is... educate your own child at home. You can arrange and make the learning schedule, time to play, and so on... Beside that, they will enjoy the quality time with you. So... if their have passion with you, they will accept what you teach to them.

Oh, I would be grateful if you can tell me more about homeschooling. I've been hearing about it but I don't have much idea about it. I am wondering how that works and how much you're earning. I'm thinking about how I can start that in our place.

Turn off all TV's, radios, and the internet and have a time every night when everyone in the family either reads or does their homework..including the parents!
Kids do what they see! If the parents make time to read, so will the kids. But it has ot be a family thing.
