My husband introduced me to the habit of eating vegetables. He make it a point that we include at least one kind of vegetable to our viand. I bought a cookbook for veggie meal. I can see the benefit now. I became resistant to colds, cough, fever which I often have before.

We do one-dish meals, but everything tends to have a vegetable in it. I've done it all of my life, so I haven't noticed any changes or differences. I love veggies and they're so tasty, especially in combination with other tasty things. I'm glad your husband got you started on a healthier diet!

I always include at least one veggie with dinner. I like fruit with lunch and breakfast. I just prefer the light feeling after eating instead the heavy one that comes after eating junk. It is also very healthy and it's a wonderful habit to start children on. If they start now it won't traumatize them at an older age. It promotes good cholesterol, weight control, and heart health.

That's interesting. I love vegetables because meat often sets my teeth on edge, but I never noticed any health benefits.

As much as possible I want to include vegetable in every meal. But sometimes its not possible. We have a favorite dish in our family, which I always prepare. It's one dish with soup and vegetable with meat in it. We call it POCHERO. It has Pork in it, loaded with Tomato, and tomato sauce. Then Carrots, Potato, SABA(a certain variety of banana), and Cabbage are included in the dish. One dish with meat and vegetables in it. We love it, and never got tired of eating it.

I have always had vegetable with my meals. (Supper). That is the way I was brought up and that is the way I brought my children up. Vegetables are good and healthy for you. I eat a variety of vegetables.

We try to add vegetables to everything - I even eat them for breakfast with my eggs! It helps you so much with not being sick, and I think it has also helped me with losing weight, now that I get several full servings of them everyday! We usually keep a whole stash of frozen veggies on hand - squash, peppers, brocolli, etc so all we have to do is toss them in the pot and we're good to go!

Most of the time I make at least two or three different kinds of vegetables with our dinner. I can eat just vegetables for a meal, but my family likes to have at least on meat as a main course.

Well...when I cook I always have something from each of the food groups...at least one. I know...I am a freak...but I always thought it was a good idea to have each one represented and offered! With veggies I usually include two - because I am far too picky about my veggies. I do not know why but there are only a few veggies I like. However, the rest of the family tends to be open to trying new things and are not picky at all. I always wanted to be a vegetarian. But...I just don't like enough vegetables and I enjoy my meat too much. :-( oh well... Thanks for starting the discussion. I am glad you are feeling the benefits from eating vegetables and are feeling well and good! :-)
