I think we have to put gas prices in perspective to how wages have grown. In 1960, I paid 30 cents a gallon for gas and made $60 per a 45 hour week. Today I earn over 10 times that amount and presently gas prices are $2.02 per gallon in our area. I don't think gas prices are bad at all. I didn't hesitate to drive in 1960 and my vehicle gets lot's more miles per gallon than the one I drove in 1960.

That is a good way to look at things. Unfortunatly most people don't realize that. Where I am at I pay 2.35 a gallon now. It was up to 3.05 about 5 months ago. My car gets terrible gas milage as well. It is nice that the price id going down though. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you newconcepts for your intelligent reply! People seem to forget that the price of drilling and refining oil has greatly increased thru the years. We have a long way to go in the USA before we would pay what Europe and Australia has paid for gas for years! We could even do it cheaper if it wasn't for all the environmental regulations imposed on us. People just want to piss and moan over everything, instead of stopping to think about the factors involved.

At least they have come down quite a bit from what they were a couple of months ago. In Seattle, they are still around $2.45 most places which I think is still too High compared to the rest of the USA... But when you have a President who does not care, and want to find ways to cut his Taxes, and not everyone elses, and hurt us in the process, what do you expect?

Yeah I live in oregon and the prices are about the same as seattle. I think they may be a little lower but not much.

It's nice to see them coming done. Some places it's $1.99 here in South Carolina. I don't think we'll see $1.50 again
