If I open your closet right this very moment...

Will there be an "avalanche"? I rarely fix the clothes in my closet. I rarely arrange them to be in order. However, I am proud to say that somehow, my the clothes in my closet is in order. Despite the number of clothes in it, you can open it without worrying about an "avalanche". I do have some friends who would warn me not to open their closets as the clothes in it might just fall out of the closet. Well, at times, I do not listen to them and would later find out some of the clothes are not folded nor hung. That is why, it would really give way and I would realize that most of the contents are already on the floor. Will I experience the same thing if I opened your closet right this very moment?

Not enough space!!! Does anybody have enough space for all the clothes? I have a very large house, with lots of closets, but they're all full to overflowing. I have some racks in the garage full of clothes, and there are still tons of things piled up on the guestroom bed, because I just can't figure out where to put anything. Shoes are equally overloaded, and every time I find what I think will be a solution to the clutter, I get part of the way through it and run out of space again. It's so frustrating!!!

Hi there cobrateacher! Have you considered selling some of the clothes and shoes you are no longer using?

Frankly, I've thought about it quite often, but I don't knw how to do that. A consignment shop might work for a couple of extremely costly pieces, but where would I sell stuff from off the rack? I want to sell a lot of clothes, and a LOT of books, to uncluttet my huse.

No avalanche for me.. LOL..but...I do have a ton of shoes I need to get rid of. Literally. I use the guest bedroom closet for some of my clothes plus I have a nice big place in the basement to hang the rest of them. I try to keep just the clothes I usually wear in my bedroom closet and the ones I hope to wear in the other closet. LOL..I'm constantly changing them around, tho, because I've been losing weight and can now wear some of the smaller sizes I've put elsewhere. My daughter's closet and her daughter's closet, however, is a whole nother story.... LOL

Wow! It seems that there are so many shoes that you need to really get rid of. Will we see some avalanche when we get to open your daughter and her daughter's closet?

LOL..more than likely. She and her husband share the same closet so between them they have lots of clothes. My granddaughter is only 7 mo but when she was born her dresser drawers were overflowing and the closet was full of clothes and toys and other baby items that she got for her shower. Her daughter was the first New Year's baby in her county so the hospital and local businesses went all out as did the bank she works for. When she left the hospital it was like she had a whole nother baby shower. LOL..They live in a two bedroom townhouse but I think the baby is taking it over.LOL

Not an avalanche but maybe some clothes scattered here and there. I have to tidy it up but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I think it might be time to weed out the clothes we don't wear anymore and donate them. I have to be in the mood for that though and at this moment I just can't be bothered.

Yes, you'll experience something similar. But it isn't just clothes that would fall on you, you'll get several other thing raining down on you as well. Closets are the garages of the house I find. Everything seems to go in there in addition to or instead of what it was designed to hold. That's why I have two main closets. One for my clothes, and the other to store everything else that I can't bring myself to throw out, or don't have the time to sell at a garage sale.

If you were to open mine and my fiances closet at the very moment you would not have to worry about any avalanche of clothes falling on you, because me and my fiance keep our closet neat and organized, with everything where it is supposed to me,from the clothes neatly on the hangers to the shoes on the floor in order,to the random stuff like board games and stuff on the top shelf.

hi doce..........you would have a different experience with my closet. first you couldn't just open it. i have it barricaded to prevent easy access by my ferrets from the floor. now they can then jump on top of my plastic drawers that are the barricade. but then to prevent them sliding the door to get in i have a long thick cardboard piece "locking" the door to prevent sliding. so you would first have to unlodge the cardboard piece to slide my closet door open. then it would be fine. there would not be an avalanche. have a good day.

mine nothing to worry. it is fine. nothing will fall on your head and it is safe to open it. so as my children's closet. but sometimes myfirst born who is a 17 years old guy has this closet clug lol. sometimes he folds his clothes nicely but when he is looking for a certain shirt then the disaster starts. so if you open his closet sometimes it is okay sometimes it is not.

Hello Dolce, i am an OCD so having a worst closet is big NO NO! we have a big one (walk in closet) and i make sure that the clothes are properly arranged. my husband often tease me coz i have it color coded and arranged based on their uses. we also have to look for a place to buy bulk hangers coz i like them all the same and the only colors you can find are orange, green, yellow and blue. i have two sets and my man have the other two. we have much going on in our clothes but i make sure that you can find easy what you are looking for. it is already hard enough to make sure that the winter clothes are not together for the spring and then the summer clothes BUT i make it a point that if the season changes i dont have to ransack everything just to find what i am looking for coz it is perfectly arranged. i rarely let my hubby get his clothes coz he likes to disarranged my so-called "color coding" just to pissed me and have a good laugh about it (he knows how bad my OCD is LOL) so i have to be the one preparing his clothes in the morning just to eliminate the "FUN" frustration haha. anyway, being an OCD is not fun at all but i guess there are few good things about it and one of it is being in order when it comes to home LOL i think my sister grows up to be like me coz she is very thorough as well when it comes to her closet and stuff. i guess it runs in the family coz my mom will always know if we look for something in the closet and no matter how hard i try to make it exactly as she did it she always have this 3rd eye who seem to be watching over even if she is not around hahaha! anyway, that is great that you are not having some fights in your closet unlike some of your friends. great for you! takecare

My clothing is all hung up in my closet. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive about my closet and I have tops sorted into style...long sleeve short sleeve, button up, 3/4 sleeve, tshirt, knitted and by colour. The top of my closet is a bit messier with boxes holding tax information and receipts and webkinz.

Hi. dolce_vita78. Right now, all of my closets are very neat inside. It is full, but neat. When I was a teenager many years ago, you could never go inside of my closet without seeing an avalanche! My closet was so messy. I had clothes all piled up. Technically speaking, I, or someone else could get lost in all of this mess!

Errr, you can open my closet, there won't be an avalanche. Most likely it's just a minor landslip - I just checked! I've got clothes on hangers, but they are cramped tightly together...I've got shelves with folded clothes and jeans, but also some that are carelessly dumped in (no time!). Bras & panties are supposed to be kept in the drawers - you would find some on the hangers (I have no idea when I put them there). Looks like I'd have to do some clearing up this weekend!

I'm proud to say that my wardrobe is colour co-ordinated with all the hanging things. It could be fine tuned now because it's a while since I originally arranged everything. The shelves carry t-shirts in piles for white, black and coloured...also singlets. The lower shelf has my pants; a pile of track pants, one for leggings and one for jeans. Good pants hang up and I keep the out of season things on a higher shelf and change things around when the seasons change. I usually do an overhaul when I do this and air the cupboard as well, taking out the shoes in the bottom and vacuuming.

hi dolce_vita! my closet is just like your closet. even though i have a lot of clothes and other stuffs inside it, an avalanche won't happen when you open it. ^__~ one thing you will notice though is it is stuffed. packed. ^__^;; i have a lot of clothes, lots of them are hanged in hangers and lots of them are folded. i have too much clothes even though i just recently gave some of it away. i think i have to give away some of them. .

Nope no avalanche will occur. The hanging ones will be hanged on top. Below are the shirts on one side and pants on the other side. Another shelf below are home clothes. Again...home shirts one side and home pants on another side. There a 5 mini drawer box for inner wear. Once a while I will rearrange the clothes. Like take the whole pile out and re arrange it when I see it is beginning to get out of place. My husband's side of the wardrobe is very nice. He does not even need to take out and re arrange. It has always been neatly arrange since the day we moved into the apartment

My mom is a very neat person. So it is not surprising that my clothes in my cabinet are neatly folded. When I got married, my husband was the exact opposite. I usually would fix his clothes to find them disheveled the following day. I was completely nagging him about it that I just gave up.
