There is nothing worst then coming home to a mess house. Even more so when there are people home all day doing nothing at all. Even more a pain in the a$$ is to come home to a messy house and then have to cook dinner. I was sitting here thinking, would i rather have a cleaning person or a cook?? i really don't want to be bothered with either!!!
i am still thinking about which one i want, so tell me which one would you want?

oh i see i think i will stick to choose the housekeeper..i bet you love to hear how tasty the food is from you kids and how appealing that could be if they were cooked by you?
i dont think kids will say hey mama i love how you clean my house rather than mama i love the sandwich..
if this make sense...

That is a good question. You are talking to a housewife/homemaker here. I want both! A cook and a cleaner. We do it all don't we? It isn't always easy but it can be rewarding sometimes.
I do like to keep a clean home and cook but it can get tiresome sometimes when you have a husband and child to take care of. Other than that it isn't so bad.
But the idea of maybe having a maid if I could afford it has entered into my mind.

It would have to be a cook for me,I hate cooking and do it as simple as possible, good thing my husband dont mind what he eats he will help cook though and it is only myself and him. I have had to cook so much when raising my kids that now I just dont like it.My home stays very clean with just the two of us,but I could use a housekeeper after all the family is here and leaves. You have a great evening.

I'd have a housekeeper, no doubt about it. I enjoy cooking, most of the time, when I am not exhausted from cleaning all day. I despise doing most housework. I think I would pay extra to have the housekeeper do the grocery shopping, though.

My dad cooks for us so my husband and i just take care of the cleaning part... We used to have an all-around maid, but we have to save money so we just agreed to do the household chores ourselves... i am also learning how to cook so i wont mind cooking-- it's fun!

I would definitely prefer a housekeeper. Food is never a problem for me; these days especially, it's much more of a necessity than a pleasure. Most of the time, I don't eat much. And cooking is rather enjoyable for me. Otherwise, I go out to eat, which is a joy in itself (with friends and such).
Cleaning, though, even with fun music on in the background, is rarely fun for me. I really have to be motivated to clean and even then, it's difficult to keep going after cleaning the bathroom (which is my first stop).

Oh most definitely someone to pick up after me. I can quickly heat up a can of soup or pull out some chips and dip to snack on, but have to pick up my clothes or do laundry or clean a toilet bowl. If I had the money, I'd hire someone in an instant, but looks like I'll be doing it on my own for quite sometime to come.

i know just what you are talking about. cooking is so much easier then cleaning. and if i had an extra $100 i would pay someone to come in and clean my place too. i think i am going to start taking up a collection. Momma needs a maid! care to support the cause!! LOL

I would go with a housekeeper. I would love to come home every day to a clean house. Nice and picked up without having to do it myself. I love to cook so I don't mind doing that. Then the housekeeper could clean the dishes, I would be set!

Hey, momma, I got to go with the housekeeper. I'm cool with cooking. I have three little girls and they can make a mess. I'm talking about messing up every room in the house. It has got to be the housekeeper.

Well, I actually like to cook so for me I would choose a housekeeper. I work during the week which means I really only have nights and weekends to clean. Throw in the fact that my mother in law is in assisted living and has occassional boughts of dimentia which means we are on call 24/7 and it can really take up your down time. You have to run errands too. It would be nice to actually be able to sit down and relax for more than an hour an evening. By all means, send me the housekeeper.

Well, that and I just can't seem to train the cats to wash clothes, lol. They would be happy to help with the dishes though.

hi..
I always look for a housekeeper who can also cook simple dishes..If she can do both jobs, then why not? When doing my interviews with housekeeper applicants, I do ask them what they can do and if they can do what i want them to do..
I have a big house so I definitely need a housekeeper because I have two kids who litters a lot and a husband who leaves his clothes anywhere but the laundry basket!! I do the cooking but there are days that i am so busy tending to urgent matters that i simply don't have time to cook..So, the housekeeper steps in and cook what i taught her to cook...

What is worse is when you are at home and you cook and clean. You stop to take a shower and come back to the livingroom to find a mess. No one in site but the filth they left behind. So you then have the pleasure of cleaning again. Dishes. Don't get me started there. You wash in the morning, afternoon, and after dinner. Then you also get to wash in between. I feel for you I do. But I'll trade places to be able to come home to a mess. Mine stays that way no matter how much I clean. The pleasures of being an at home Mom.

Wow there's someone out there that feels the same as me! Yes, that really burns me to walk into a messy house after work. It burns me more when they have the nerve to ask when supper is ready! I kindly tell them that i'll cook supper when the mess is cleaned up and not a minute sooner and FINALLY then, they get their butts in gear. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :)

we so must live together because my son will call me every single day on my way home and ask what's for dinner, then when i get home he calls to say when is dinner ready! i mean every single day he calls to ask me the same two questions!! not only that you would think he would help keep the house clean being that he is home all day long during the summer!

Well momma, after you teach me how to make the big bucks online, I am going to hire myself a cleaning person. I actually like to cook, so this is an easy choice for me. Cleaning is no fun! I'd like someone to do all my laundry too!

I would rather have a housekeeper. I don't mind cooking the meals but I hate cleaning up afterwords so if I had a housekeeper she could do the dishes for me. I also really don't like putting groceries away and I hate to clean the bathroom so Housekeeper for me for sure.

The housekeeper hands down! I have two ladies which come in every other Friday and I cannot tell you what a pleasure it is to get home on a Friday afternoon and find the house sparkling clean and picked up. In my house, everyone eats pretty much anything so cooking is not a big deal and doesn't take too long. It's also a lot more fun to cook in a clean kitchen! If I could, I'd have them come every week, but I'm not able to afford that right now. We do the upkeep and everyone has their chores to do in between their visits. Good luck, whichever one you decide on will be a help to you.

I want a housekeeper. Then I can cook and they can clean it up which is the worst part. I also need a nanny so that I will have time to cook. I just need her there while I fix meals and when I need five minutes to breathe. It's amazing how you forget to breathe when you're running around like a chicken with his head cut off.
