I am becoming worried about the education in the united states. And not just public education. I have recently attempted college and I can not help but feel that I am not actually learning anything that will truly help me in my life goals. I am not sure if this is just me or if there are others out there that think the same way i do. In ancient Greece academia was set up to teach the people involved how to learn from life experiences. Now all they do is cram information down your throat and expect you to know exactly what to do with it inherently. I am not saying that what they teach us now is not important. What I am saying is that we are loosing context for the information/knowledge they are feeding us now because we are not learning the basics of life learning. we just learn to absorb information. I do not know how to fix this problem I see. I don't understand the problem fully enough to pose a solution. I was hoping you might.

I think this problem needs national attention.
If you feel that education has lost it's original
meaning, to educate the students, others also think
the way you do. The government must look in to this
matter with utmost attention. There should be a cry
for education overhaul to address this issue. The future
of the new generation lies in education.

The significance of education is not to make educatees know what they do not know before,but to make educatees do what they are not able to do before. University education make students good at thinking, and understand how to use wisdom to serve themseles in the whole life. maybe how to aquire this ablity is the key for university students.

I find that education is only good in the U.S. if you want to learn and are willing to put yourself out there. Otherwise you will fall behind the rest of the world.
