I used to lock my Bed room door before i went for a Sleep, because if my kid wake up in the midnight, i dont want him to go out, so, i used to close my Bed room door daily, in the night time, when i go for sleep.
What about you?? Do you have a habit of locking your Bed room Door??
I used to saw most of the houses, they used to took sleep in the Hall, at this point of time, they no need to lock any of the Doors..

sometimes i close my bedroom door, while sometimes don't.
it depends on my mindset.if today i am blue,i'll close.
if today i need to do something important in mt room,i'll close.
sometimes close of the door will give us a sense of security.
and i like the dim light shade in my room when i close the door.
take care.

Well I locked my room before I sleep and It makes me feel safe...Another thing why I lock it because every morning my nephews are tryin to play inside my room and it really disturbs me so I usually lock my room so that my sleep will be good...:-0

When I was married and my kids were living with me, I would close my bedroom door some but not lock it. The front and back door would always be locked at night, and the back door stayed locked during the day if I wasn't in the back part of the house. Now, my kids are grown and I live with my mom. My mom and I always sleep ith our bedroom doors closed. My mom does it because she goes to sleep in the afternoon and she has to have everything into her room shut up tightly or she won't be able to get to sleep. I do it because my mom has a cat, and I do not want him getting onto my bed as I am allergic to cat dander. We keep both our front and back door locked unless we are expecting someone, then we will open the front door so they can see we are home.

Yes, that is my practice for years, to check all the doors in the house and make sure that that they are all closed and locked properly.

We make sure that the front & back doors are locked. Normally for good air circulation we leave our bedroom door open. We have a grown son (21) living with us...so privacy is respected by all.
If I or my wife were to take a nap (which is rare) during the day, we would leave the door open.

it is just important to lock all the entrance and exit doors of the house at night. I normally just shut the door when I go to sleep. I do not lock it anymore for safety reasons. Like if there would be fire inside the house and you are a heavy sleeper, people may have a hard time waking you up if the door is locked.

In my opinion b02, not bolting the door at the time you go to sleep is a mere carelessness and many times this results in lapse of security also! So as a good practice, we must close the door and bolt inside before we go to sleep. This habit will also be followed by our children. Since safety begins and practised at home, this habit must be one of the safe habits no doubt! Thanks for this nice discussion.

I used to always sleep with my door closed, but after staying with Mom for a while, she asked me if I could leave it open in case she needed me during the night, that way I'd hear her. I felt bad because she felt like if she needed help, I might not hear her calling for me. I've left it open ever since, with a few exceptions if I wanted to do something with lights on so it wouldn't disturb her. So, now I sleep with the door open with no difficulties.

Normally I do not lock the door... When we need privacy, we make sure kids are asleep in their bedroom...
If we are sure ... then we lock the room.. and reopen it as soon as we are free..
In other words ,we avoid taking risk...

We only lock the bedroom door when we are changing clothes or getting intimate, the rest of the time we leave the door somewhat shut, but where we can still hear the kids if they get up during the night or in case something were to happen that they can get to us.
