Generally speaking.. you have to choose a side..
First, Human Effort-- your work in order to be in Heaven
Second, Grace-- work of God to be in Heaven
which side are you??
me i prefer Grace.. its God's work.. all we have to do is to listen on his Word and follow it.. and good deeds will just follow..

Well it is only by grace that we are saved no human effort could possibly save us so we cannot even choose. There is no other choice because Salvation is by grace and that's it! As one song goes:
Only by grace can we enter
Only by grace can we stand
Not by our human endeavor
But by the blood of the Lamb
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."—2 Timothy 1:9.
God bless you!

Yes, my friend you are very right. It is better to trust God than to put confidence in man. The Bible is "God-breathed, it is God's words to us. It is one hundred percent reliable, without error. It is unique and totally different from all other religious books ever written. The Bible gives us the measuring stick by which we can determine truth from error. Therefore we cannot be ever fooled by the false teachings of other books and the false prophets. So why read other books recommended by the unbelievers? Why be blind just like them? We Christians have already found the light in Jesus and the unsolicited bad advice of the unbelievers are just trash discarded in the waste can. The Bible is very clear that the unbeliever is storing up “wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God (Romans 2:5), and that God will “render to each one according to his deeds” (Romans 2:6. So WOE unto all those unbelievers and I pray they still have time to find light before the judgment day comes. And CHEERS my dearest brother, for the glory that is in store for us in the judgment day! God bless!

So far, I have not done a single thing with the purpose of being in Heaven. And I will never. I don't believe either in Heaven or Hell. I have never seen your God either, and I don't care for the Bible. It is, after all, a book written by human beings, that too, men.
The only God I see is the Nature around me, the Earth that sustains me, the water and air I need to survive, and all the things of Nature. Why should I believe in an unseen God where I see so much visible wonder? And of course, it is my duty to take care of this Earth, to make it beautiful, to protect it, to love it, and to cherish it, to say nothing of being grateful to it, and I am sure human beings have enough potential to make this Earth an ideal place for life.
Cheers and happy mylotting

I pick the Grace side.
We follow His word and strive to do His will because we want to, not because we have to.
We are not slaves to any God, we are children of God.

This two school of thoughts had been talked about since the early church. But there is always a winner, and that goes for the biblical side, that it was God who did it all. No man can ever be credited, no, not one.
Jacob versus John huh!

I think both the sides should go side by side.God Almighty has made us independent and free to make efforts first.Only then the divine Grace comes to act positively. The best way to Salvation is MONOTHEISM b/c God Almighty never likes Polytheism being the only unforgivable and most heinous sin as per the last divine Book.We should see all these aspects.............

but what about the book that stated by God.. "you have been save by grace through faith"... and it is done.. do still want to do more effort in order to be save?? or that effort is the outcome of your salvation.. because you have been save by grace..??
