Hay Fields In West Virginia

I was raised on a farm. We plowed our gardens and harvested our hay with a horse. It was a lot different than the tractors and mowers of today.
We would cut the hay. Let it dry. Then we would rake it up and put it in a hay stack. It seems like I was always the one that had to get on top of the hay stack and tramp it down.
This photo is of a local hay field. It is beautiful and the work is so much easier than days gone by.

When I go for a drive in the country I often see huge hay stacks, but i have noticed lately they even have huge round ones as well as square ones, I often wondered how they got into those big round stacks...they really are huge...
