I have tried every thing to get this program working again but nothing helps. I've reconfigured it and everything short of uninstalling and reinstalling, which at this point I'm willing to do. If I do that will I lose all of my word documents? My novel is on this program I can't lose that. It was working on the 5th, so I'm not sure what went wrong. I do know my computer automatically downloads microsoft updates and it did that about 4 days ago. I didn't install it and the first thing to mess up was my norton, thank GOD I have another anti-virus and spyware program on here, then word went, well I thought if I installed the new service pack everything would work. HAHA NO. I had to restore my computer after installing it because all my programs quit working even, gasp, the net. So please can someone help?

Well I think its time for you to backup your data to a safe storage now that your PC is not working properly. I think you should do if you have a big capacity USB then better put all your works there. Then maybe its better to contemplate reformatting your computer to erase any unnecessary files that your computer may have downloaded from the computer that has made the problem. Then after formatting then reinstall a new and fresh copy of your windows to have it starting back normally again. Then try installing all the softwares you have installed in it. But if you cannot do all these things then its better that you ask for technical people who could do this things for you.

I am glad you have solved your problems thru that. I think now that the crisis is over I suggest that you make the necessary backing up of your data files. You could have it burn with CDs or the more easier USB Storage which is much faster and reliable.

I think you should first separate your *.doc files in a pen drive or cd or in any removal devices. It may be for some virus or spy your system is being unstable.so after making a backup for your document you just update or reinstall office.it may solve your problem.

It was my virus protection program that had the virus/problem. Once I got rid of that everything worked fine. Had to install a new program.

Hey i think you should reinstall the operating system again as i think there can be the corruption of the windows and even this cab be due to the virus.I think you should format your computer. As far as the data in the computer is concerned ,you can store it in the portable hard disk and then can get it back into the computer after the installation of the window.Make sure first install the windows and antivirus and then update it.If you have the problem with the antivirus you switch to AVAST ANTIVIRUS as it is the best you can ever get.You can get much about that from my blog posts if you like to know better choice of the antivirus.Visit www.technotoric.blogspot.com

I think you may ask the experts,or take out the hard disk and put it into a hard disk cartridge, then use it as a portable hard disk, this way you may save your things. Good luck to you!

First, you should buy another hard drive so you can make a backup of your computer. Then, you should uninstall and install XP. After it is reinstalled, put the backup back into the computer. It should work Good luck
