Yes, it is true. A book has been written about Obama that is a best seller. I have not read it yet, but the reviews on amazon are very informative for and against. It is an education about Obama, pro and con, in and of itself. Read the amazon reviews yourself. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1416598065/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=2361532181&ref=pd_sl_7y2bsc8bi4_e I say these reviews are a good small reproduction of the national debate. Entertaining and educational. What a deal! What do you say?

The same guy who wrote 'Unfit for Command', JUST coincidentally at the same time that John Kerry was running for president? That's a staggering coincidence. Call me old fashioned, but if a well known republican wants me to read his propoganda and follow his political agenda, he should really be paying ME.

A reasonable point of view. How about AUDACITY OF HOPE to get Obama's side of the story. Then read this book. Before voting it makes sense to get both sides. BTW: As to 'UNFIT FOR COMMAND' you'd be surprised how many military officers from that era agreed with the basic premise that John Kerry was unfit to be an officer and much less unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. In Kerry's own unit, his immediate subordinates supported him about 100% to be President but his fellow officers were against him being President.

Oh, doubt regarding Kerry; bringing it up during his election run is no doubt valid (though I seem to remember GWB's service record was at least as dodgy, yet less publicised); publishing a bestselling book about it and profiting from it during that period just seems... tacky, though.

Well it would be interesting to read. But yes you should read both books. I don't think I could stand to read either one to tell the truth. I really don't care what is in that book. I've based my vote on basic economics and Obama's plans make absolutely no sense. There is no way stealing from the rich to give to the poor is going to help the economy. There is no way you can get the price of gas down with a windfall oil tax plan, no way that investing into alternative energy that is less efficient and turning your back on efficient energy sources we have available to us now is going to help hurting American's now. And I have a very big problem with him acting like he's the messiah of Americans. And this is not a conclusion I came to listening to anyone else... It was all him that set me against voting for him. I do have to say one thing about the book...Just love the play on words there for the title. It's cute!

I commend you on that I just couldn't do it. I read a couple of paragraphs and said oh my gosh this man is running for President??? Of course he's writing a book to sell himself so it should be fair game for someone to write a book the opposite.

I'm reading AUDACITY OF HOPE. I find it to be pap, soft soap, phoney feel good squishy stuff, and not really very valuable for a pragmatic person. AUDACITY OF HOPE is written IMHO to sell Obama to the voters. It should be considered the same as any other sales pitch. That is, something not to be taken seriously.

A book like this was bound to come along, I really do not understand what took a book of this type to hit the shelves. If someone published all of the discussion that people like yourself have reported here on MyLot about Obama they would have themselves a great book. All the deal breakers against Obama could fill books over and over again.

Obama has led a charmed political life up to this point. He almost became a senator by default. The presidency will not be so easy.

(I am not sure how tongue in cheek you are being here RYBD; or if you are at all!) Yes it does look to be an interesting and informative book..... But where are the pro's? Maybe I missed something when reading the review? It appears to be wholly geared as an anti rather than level overview and statement concerning his life and achievements? Although I am intrigued by the book now, I would feel more enthusiastic if the commentary was more balanced. (Keeping in mind my comments are based purely on the review/overview and not the book as a whole!) Is there a McCain book in LARGE print for his peers as well? ;)

The book itself is against Obama for president. I thought some of the reviews were pro Obama.

You've got that right. Just now on the news I heard about how even if Hillary's name is put into contention on the floor she will not win the nomination. Well, we both know what it often means when government or political spokespersons say something ain't going to happen.

I read the book. It is full of lies. The author even admits that not all the facts have been checked. He insists the larger point is that Obama should not be president. I disagree.

Good for you that you read the book and made an informed opinion. Too many don't bother. At least you have a reason to believe as you do. Right now, I'm about 1/3 of the way through AUDACITY OF HOPE. It is too early to make a final decision of what I think of this book, but so far, I find it very much wanting. Obama's criticisms of conservatives are way off base in that he demonstrates in his own words he does not understand conservative opinion. In particular I found Obama's opinion of Justice Scalia of the Supreme Court to be simply ill informed and ignorant or deceitful. Particularily, for someone who once was a law professor Obama's stated opinion of Justice Scalia is disgraceful.

I thought the reviews were very informative, mostly not focusing on the personal life issues that are the stuff of rumor on the internet but more on the fact that Obama's ideas for government are extremely Marxist/Comminist. One of the reviewers even stated that if Ronald Reagan were still around he would go to Chicago and tell Obama to tear down this wall. I had thought most people would dismiss the book as another rumor since many of the issue raised in the book have already been widely circulated on the internet and people know them already, but one of the authors was pro-Obama before reading the book and wrote that people should read the book with an open mind because it raises some disturbing questions about Obama. It appears my initial reaction was wrong and the book exposes more than is being broadcast in the news media. It could have a real impact on the election.

Yes, it could impact on the election. Obama's staff is sure organizing an effort to counter this book.
