I am attracted to the Gaelic language and try to learn a new word and pronunciation each day. My screen name Annam Cara means Soul Friend. Although I had to mispell it for availability purposes. Annam Cara is also a very good book to read but I forget the Author's name. One day I hope to return to the land of my ancestors and wish to know and understand the language. Although Gaelic isn't the only language I'd like to be able to speak with the elders.

I think this is really something different! Very unique language which I never heard of. Thanks a lot for sharing about this language and all the best in your language learning!

Hi, Currykai! I've been trying for quite a long time to learn Spanish, but I have so many interruptions, I haven't learned much. I live in Miami, and our population is mostly hispanic. My mother-in-law has been here since the mid-1950s, but she hasn't learned English, so we sort of both speak Spanglish and try not to get too frustrated when we communicate. Many stores have no English speakers on staff, and in many places, all the signs ar in Spanish. I have several programs, and I use them all at various tiimes, bu I'm not doing really well. Did I hear something about old dogs and new tricks?

thanks for your response. I hope by communicating verbally could further improve instead of listening to programs how to speak. How about taking up classes? don't worry is never to late to start anything!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm hoping to get a foundation from the CDs, and then really learn the language from my friends and my students. I want to surprise my husband be talking with him in Spanish!

I would like to learn new languages all the time because by learning the language we can understand the culture of the community and also it will be helpful to communicate with them. I am from India and there are so many languages and cultures in India, so i want to learn all the languages in India first and then i will move to world languages.
