You asked for suggestions so here you go. One of my all time favorite books is "The Stand" by Steven King. I must have read it five or six times now. Coming in a close second is the "Mission Earth" series by L. Ron Hubbard. I know I know but I'm not a Scientologist or anything. The books are just a good read, with lots of sarcasm etc... Now I'm not Steven King fanatic but I just happen to read a couple of his books and like them so my next recommendations are "Black House" and "The Talisman". Again just a good read Now I could go on for a good long time but my last recommendation would be the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. Have fun

I'd have to agree with your stephen king suggestions, even though "the stand" is a bit lengthy. but I would also suggest almost anything by Neil Stephenson for sci-fi.

If you want some interesting sci-fi, I'd recommend Kurt Vonnegut. His writing style is quirky, and his stories are quite amusing. I just finished his Slapstick and enjoyed it immensely. Other sci-fi books you might enjoy are Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein and anything by Rudy Rucker (Saucer Wisdom has been my favorite so far). Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress is great as well. I'd also suggest trying Catch-22, I, Claudius, and anything by Ray Bradbury.

I would recommend to you anything by the author Steve Berry. His novels are fiction, but they have a historical context as well...along the lines of National Treasure or The DaVinci Code. His books are always about a person who is looking for some lost artifact or information or place, etc, and they are full of interesting facts as well as GREAT fiction.

Hi There , I am not Big fan of steve berry , but i do remember reading this book Venetian Betrayal ....its an exciting story with many twists and suprises ..it has all the usual elements - the evil villian , the hero and a race against time ...although in the middle i did get lost trying to figure out who was wo and why they are even in the story ...i have to admit that the start was great but when u come to the end ..its gets boring ..actually just lost interest at the end...

Its a good time to try some new authors too. You might try Dean Koontz or John Saul. They write horror/ mystery stories.

I LOVE John Saul - one of my very favorite authors. I've read almost all his books! I've never understood why he doesn't get as much attention as Dean Koontz or Stephen King.
