So here i am writing a discussion on my life. Ladies and gentlemen I have reached the bottom of the barrel. The few things that are going good for me in my life:
1. Starting Law School
2. Getting into shape.
The things that are going bad for me in my life:
1. Chose a Law School because my girlfriend (ex now) lived there.
2. Based my life around one person.
3. Got to the state and found out my girlfriend decided to leave me for a "wealthy" guy who turned out to be her boss.
So here I am served 10 years in the military gave my all to everyone and everybody. Let alone a female with whom I devoted my life. Don't have a lot to my name..not yet at least. But, I am trying to become something better. I was riding a high because life was coming together but now ladies and gentlemen I have reached the bottom of the barrel.
Are there any people out there who have success stories of life and how to get through life? If so let me know.

JayMike,
Welcome to MyLot! (It feels so condescending, but I'm excited I've been here long enough to say it!)
I'm sorry things are going poorly for you right now, but I thought it might make you feel better: My life goal right now is to pay off my car so that I can afford to go to law school. So no matter how low you are, you're a couple steps above me!!
But really, in law school (presumable starting end of this month or early next?) you will be too busy to be concerned about your ex-girlfriend. She sounds like trash anyway (no offense!). And you said yourself you are getting in shape, so you can focus on that while you get started at school.
You're fine, play on MyLot while you're bored (as you can tell from my name, that's how I got started), and time will pass and as it does you will feel better and more positive.
And again, Welcome to MyLot!

OOPS, one other thing I forgot to mention, BEST piece of advice I've ever gotten! "There's nothing so bad you can't do it for 100 days". And it's totally true! This is wisdom from my father, who spent 100 days in federal prison for a crime he didn't commit. In that context, it's especially helpful!

There is a saying, " This too shall pass away "
Do not feel you are down and harp on it. Bad times come to all of us and specially the good people. Learn from your experience and make a go at life once again. You are young and if you keep the fighting spirit up, no body can beat you. When you are unhappy or sad, you can always come here and pass ;your time. If that girl left you, its her loss, not yours. So cheer up, for whatever God does is all for the best, and we in our ignorance cannot understand his kindness. You will see this for yourself when you meet the right person.

jaymike...that is so wrong. but there are people like that. undependable. and you deserve better. at this point try to dust yourself off and start over. it's not easy but it's the way to go forward. each day has a new beginning. and your life is still worth living. keep living each day and climb your way up and out latest downer. the sun shines for you.
