Where do you hide stuff in your house?

When we have Little Debbie sweets or cakes in
the house, they always go fast. So I have to hide
most of the box of wrapped sweets or they'll get
eaten within the first day or two.
Sometimes, I stick the extra boxxes up in my
daughter's closet. She's still too small
to get up into the closet, so that's the
perfect hiding place. The sweets don't go bad
or spoil cause they're all prewrapped.
If I were hiding Chrismtas presents, that's
where they'd go too.
Sometimes, I hide an extra
twenty dollar bill under my computer tower
so that I can grab it in a flash for pizza money.
Where do you hide things in your house?

Well since we don't have kids, we don't really need a hiding space because there isn't enough money to be buying anything special in our house. lol Really though, it's true, we're about as poor as a church mouse, especially this month when everything has hit us at once. BUT I have used some closets as a way to store something that I didn't want hubby to see.

Women are the gatekeepers to the future.
I've always believed that.
If we don't sock away extra stuff
for the future, (whether money, canned goods,
hurricane supplies, etc.) it won't be
there when the family needs it.
I've been poorer than poor
and my tendency to pack rat stuff
away comes from that experience.
It's so much easier to tuck back
an extra twenty dollars when you are
doing well than to find an extra twenty
when you're broker than heck!
I can identify with the feeling of everything
caving in financially at the same time.
Usually it all begins with our car breaking down
and then hubby usually loses his job within the
week and then everything coming due at once.
So, I do know how you feel.
My heart goes out to you.
I'll remember you and your family in my prayers tonight.
Best wishes!

If I have bought treats that I do not want going too fast then I hide them in the kitchen cupboards right at the back. No one ever bothers routing, if it is not in front of their nose then they do not see any further.
If I am hiding pressies or anything else then it either goes in the draws under my bed or in my wardrobe, no one would dare go in there. Money, well I have lots of hiding places for that! I just have to make sure I remember where they are LOL

Several times in my past I have needed that little bit of extra money. Sometimes it is that I have to sell things to get that extra cash. We scrambled to find the $300 to sign up with a company that we want to use and sell their products. It is amazing what you can find. I actually hide my money in Pay Pal, right now. Hubby says he does not even want to know what is in there, or how to access it, even though it is in both of our names. I need to send for the debit card for that, so I can use it more widely.

Hi Gerty! I was just thinking the same thing
the other day. How the heck is hubby going to get my
paypal money if he needs it?
If I am incapacitated for some reason, i.e. in the hospital,
hubby doesn't have access to my online earnings at Paypal.
So I need to get him a debit card that we can share
just in case he needs access to the extra money.
Thanks for the reminder.

I do not hide food, as there is really no one to hide it from but myself. We put money in jars.
Hubby has jars of coins all over the place.
What he does not know is that I have colored jars with dollar bills in them.

have a terrible sweet tooth.
I also have a daughter and 2 grandsons that like the treats I usually have.
I have a dresser in my office and I stash a lot of my sweets there.
Doesn't do any good at all though.
Everyone knows where it's at.
My daughter doesn't ask, she takes then tells me.
My grandsons always ask first.

Finally! Someone that has my quirks.
I don't feel like such a freak now.
I thought I was the only one who hid sweets.
For a minute there, everyone was looking at me
as if I had a horn growing out of my eyeball.

I sometimes hide snacks around the house so that my son does not eat them right away. I keep some in a drawer in my room and there are sometimes things in the dresser in the family room that the television sits on top of. Nothing in either of those places now though since he found them.

I thought that maybe I was the only Mom
who did this!
My little girl would eat nothing but sweets
if I left them out on the counter.
She's just at that age.

We don't keep too many sweets in the house. So it really isn't a problem. We get them for the ocassional treat. As for presents at Christmas, we hide them in the trunk of the car, or my hubbys closet. Those are two places my daughter has yet to check.

Trunk of the car!
That's pretty smart.
I wouldn't have thought of that one.
Thanks!

If there were checks or anything, they'd
definitely go into a lock box.

I have a nephew that is here most of the summer, well he loves Doritos. If I have a bag of them sitting on the kitchen table he'll eat them, and he can eat the whole bag, he'll make a meal of them. So the last time he was here I actually had to hide them in my bedroom, my husband asked me what I was doing, I told him I was hiding the Doritos or the nephew will eat them all up. He gets up before we do in the mornings and a bag of Doritos is his idea of breakfast...lol. I try to keep him from eating alot of junkfood when he's here.

My daughter does the same thing with
Doritos if I leave them out. They're made out of real whole corn
so that's the good news.
But as you say, they're not really breakfast foods!

I hide money in the cd pockets in my car, and yes, I forget it there... lol but one day when cleaning out the car and I found $10 in one pocket and $20 in the other, I was so happy lol. As for sweets n snacks, I usually put a couple up in my closet because by the time I feel for one and go get it... the box is empty.

I live alone, so I really don't have o hide things. When I lied at home and my Dad and sister lived at home I had to hide money and sweets or else they'd steal them from me. I got pretty good at hiding things in drawers, and under things and behind things in my edroom that they coudln't find wihout being caught snooping!!
