Do you reward good work, or just punish bad?

I am a classic train wreck. I spent the first portion of my day at Banana Republic trying to get a dress that went out of season over a month ago. I need this for my sister's wedding, it is her choice for the bridesmaid dresses. She gets married not this Saturday, but next. Needless to say, I pushed it off way too long, and this is no one's fault but my own! But the woman I met at Banana Republic went out of her way, contacting LITERALLY every store that claimed to still have one, and located the last dress in Chicago! Now she knew that's all I was shopping for, so there was no chance of a commission for her. But she worked on this for thirty minutes, then let me use the store phone to pay by phone and have it shipped! I made sure to get the information so that I could give her a positive review with Banana Republic, and I thought that it's the first time I've done that in a long time. But if I get terrible service, I'm all over reporting it! Does anyone here go out of your way to report good service? Any good examples? I would be very interested to hear them!

I love that you did that!...I would have given her a gift card... I like doing that rather then calling someone else. It lets that person know how I feel about them.

Thats nice! I am poor, but I've been thinking I should start doing handwritten thank you cards again... affordable and thoughtful! Thanks for the reply!

I used to work in the Admissions Office at a college and it was my job to contact prospective students and give tours. A girl came once for a tour and mentioned that she wanted to preview college life before she committed to coming to school there. I agreed to let her spend the weekend with my roommate and I and go to classes with me the following Monday. Not only did she want to come to our college, she is one of my best friends to this day. Her and her parents absolutely adore me to this day.

That's so sweet!! I love to hear stories about people going above and beyond like you did. And I'm glad it was appreciated!
