How old were you when you moved out of your parents home? Were you kicked out or moved out voluntarily?

I was 18 when I moved out of my parents home. I moved out voluntarily. My mom and I clashed alot through my teen years which is normal. I started saving up stuff to move out. My friend and I were going to get a place together. Well then we cooked up the idea to move in with a guy friend and my boyfriend too in this big house. My parents weren't thrilled but they let me do it. Everyone gave it 6 months and said I'd be moving back home. 9 years later and I'm still on my own. They were right though, that living situation didn't work out. I fell in love with the guy roommate which helped me in breaking up with my boyfriend. so he moved out. Then my friend was homesick and jealous because she liked the guy roommate too so she moved out. We had the place to ourselves for awhile. We ended up getting engaged and then married.

I moved out in my 22 years old. I worked in a new city when I have finished my school, so I have to rent a house.

I temporarily moved out my parents home when I went away to college at Michigan State in the Fall of 2003. I lived on campus my first 2 years there and came home during the summers so technically I wasn't officially out of the house yet. My third and final year at State I moved into an apartment right off of campus and stayed there for the whole year so I guess you could say 2005 was my first year out of my parents home. Once I graduated in Spring 2006 I moved down to Florida with my boyfriend and personally that's when I consider I officially moved out. It was definitely voluntarily, my boyfriend and I both wanted to move to Florida and we decided to do it together and start our life together officially. I don't think my parents ever would have kicked me out of the house unless I did something terribly bad. I am sooo close with my family though that I don't think I would even THINK about doing something that would get me kicked out. I feel bad for the people that get kicked out because obviously they aren't as lucky or as blessed as the people who have good relationships with their family. And to me family is number one, it comes first and foremost before anything!

I actually moved out about a year and a half ago, when I was 19. I moved to go to college, but it wasn't in an apartment of my own. I moved into residence and that became my home. Now, I still in residence, but the residence I now live in is a building with apartments, if you understand my meaning. So, I visit my folks during holidays and stuff, but it's not really home anymore.

I was 29 and I moved out voluntarily. At that age I felt I was mentally and financially ready to be on my own.I was preparing for that day for a long time and that was the age that it happened and I have no regrets
