Shrek - The movie, has some important messages, BUT?

It has some good points but do you agree that the violence in the cartoon movie is a must to depict the story clearly? Can't we avoid depicting violence in these movies for children because they's still to young to assimilate why violence is committed? Do you agree that cartoon movies should be free from violence because these are for children's viewing? What are your thoughts on cartoon movies today?

I have to agree with Mitija, the older cartoons were mostly violence and i think that it is very necessary to see the violence in shrek to understand the deeper plot lines.

You are very welcome. Also I don't really believe in the "You watch or play violent whatever, there for you will be violent" aspect. It seems more likely and better proven that if you are more violent to begin with that you will enjoy and thus play more violent games.

Cartoon movies will always have some violence in them, but they don't go overboard with it because it's a kids movie. Kids are smart. They're not going to turn out bad from watching a cartoon with violence. If that was how it happened then everybody who watched Tom & Jerry would be in jail. And those cartoons were nothing but violent most of the time.

You know come to think of yes it is too violent for a cartoon. I know my son loves to look at Shrek that is his favorite movie. That might explain some of his violent behavior.

"tom and jerry" is violent. any other cartoons have a little bit of violence in it. save of course for romantic stuff like Cinderella... it excites our mind.. i don't think it should be censored for children, as long as it's not that overboard, and by overboard i mean KILL BILL viiolence in Cartoons.
