Why saving money is so important?

We save, basically because we cannot predict the future. Some say money is intended to expense. So what do you prefer to do if you have enough money?

I live on a day to day basis, not caring much about the future. I ve been working for 7 years and not saved a single penny

Saving is an important virtue. Today's little savings can help us out of immediate emergencies or any danger in the near future. But we need to spend for us wisely and save whatever is possible. I do not believe in being a miser and saving for the future. But I would definitely prefer some savings to mitigate any risks like health care or any mishaps.
