Can i use Microsoft Outlook as my e-mail client with msn messenger?

hi, i was using windows live mail as my default e-mail client until recently i decided to use outlook instead. However, when my msn messenger pop-up saying that i recevied new e-mail i click on the pop-up and windows live mail comes out to receive my e-mail instead of outlook. I want to ask can i change the msn messenger so that when i click on the e-mail button of the messenger, microsoft outlook will come out instead of windows live mail.
