Hey there Have you ever been listening to any song that just about brings you to tears or does brings you to tears as you other listened to it when you where surrounded with some friends that you use to go and see all the time or even use to live with?.Why I ask you fellow mylotters is last night I was sitting in my bedroom listening to one of my new cds that I use to listen to when I live at my two old houses in Timaru Newzealand and I was sitting there listening to this particular cd and then that song came on and after it getting about 5 minutes into I was just about in tears more because of the memories of when I had first heard this song then to finish the fact of once again just about being brought to tears when I looked at my cellphone as this person I had first listened to this one song on this cd that had just about brought me to tears had sent me a picture of her daughter and I was looking at this picture of her daughter who looks very much more and more by the day like a miniature of her mother in the way that the little darling looks and in an aspect even the way of her attitude at first when I started this discussion I had no idea of what I would put this discussion topic as so I asked one of my older sisters lamb101 and she also was not sure but I am not sure if this discussion topic I am about to put will make any sense really or not but I guess I will soon find out when I get any responds on this discussion.god bless you all in your quests.

Some music really touches the heart as it makes you remember your past, some times makes you feel you are missing some one very close to your heart. When such feelings goes beyond your control it just comes out in the form of tears.

I would have to agree certain songs mean more to me then other songs simply because of the memories that can be attributed to the songs and whenever you hear the song it brings back the memory that you had possibly repressed.

I have heard both of those songs. Although I'm not quite sure why you put something about Newzealand before 2pac.

I get this when I listen to sad songs, they always seem to have words in that remind me of some part of my life and it makes me want to cry and then I feel down. I actually avoid listening to sad songs now as they just make me feel low.

Definitely! Music can inspire emotions and feelings in all of us; which I guess is why we all have different tastes. Some songs make me nostalgic and remind me of times in the past; some songs make me sad or feel energetic and some make me feel relaxed..... There are many different songs that have varying effects on me prsonally and I am sure that there are many others that experience the same!

im a rather emotional person i guess, even commercials can get me fighting back tears pretty often.
there are a number of artists and songs who if i sit by myself and listen to i will end up trying not to cry.
if im with other ppl and a song comes on that i know is gonna get to me, i just change the radio station or track on the cd lol!
especially Stevie Nicks music..i dont think there is a single song of hers that i cant relate to from some point in my past. many many of her songs have me fighting tears.

Many memories are tied in some way to music so of course a song can bring on emotions. Sound and smell are two of our most powerful senses and memory is often jogged by those two senses.
There are songs I can't bear to listen to, like the one that was on the radio the night I had to have my dog euthanized. That was 7 years ago and I still can't even hear the opening bars to that song without tears. Other songs are happy and bring back great thoughts of times gone by.

I think the point of music is emotion. That is why I like it. It lets me experience the emotion of the singer and feel something.
