Hi everyone! Do you agree that when it comes to technology cellphones are the ones that always has the recent upgrades or improvements? It seems like month after month cellphone brands always comes up with a new model. But how many cellphones have you bought already? And what did you do with your old cellphones? I have bought several already, nokia, sony ericsson and panasonic. I had around 10 cellphones and I sold my old cellphones to buy new ones. I just kept buying when something new comes out. Its like I was never satisfied with my cellphone. I don't even use much of their features except for texting and calling. I think the reasons why I buy a new model is because its just new, its the fad model and expensive so I've got to have it for show offs. I don't even think if I can use its features. But now I have come to realize that its unpractical and a waste of money. I have regrets really, wasting money on cellphones. But theres nothing I can do now. Its done but I have learned from that experience so now I'm sticking with my cellphone. I'm not buying any new ones for as long as I can use my present cellphone. How about you guys? What are your reasons why you buy a new cellphone?

I love my cell phone, I love the fact that anyone can get a hold me very quickly. I am not into the trendy stuff at all. If someone wants to change a appointment or reschedule they can reach me even if I am not home. I just want to be able to talk and do my work, not into the trendy stuff.

i will only buy a new cell phone if my old one is either broken beyond repair, mine was lost or stolen or if it would cost less to buy a new one then it would to get my old one fixed. the cell phone i hae now is a pay as you go, if i was accepted for a monthly plan but had to get a new phone for it then that would be the only other way i would purchase a new phone

Hello there iskayz! Ever since I started using cellphones, I always look after the features that I can take advantage of. I have seen a lot of cellphones that are new and are considered the fad but aside from being very expensive, the features that I am interested in are not in one cellphone. One feature could be in one and another feature may be in another cellphone. It doesn't matter how expensive the phone is for as long as the features I am looking for are all in one cellphone.

hi, iskayz.. Since cellphone was invented and reached the country, I availed the latest, of course, second hands weren't available then..I had to have one because i was mostly at conferences and it's hard to look for an available landline when I have urgent matters to discuss with subordinates.. i think since then I already have 15 or more.My gosh,am i that old already? Coz that was in the early 90's when you have to bring those humongous cellphones! In the old days, those old cellphones, i gave to my family. But since second hands became a fad for those who wants to be practical and those who cannot afford, I sold them my old ones. Sometimes all for cash and sometimes traded them for a new and latest one which of course i have to add some cash. It's not like i wanted to have the latest but if ever i want to sell it, i could get a higher price for a trade in or for cash. i buy the latest because of the features. But features I can use both for personal and business. So, whenever I change phones, I always get a flyer of the brand and model i want to buy. If I am satisfied with the features, i'd go ahead and buy it. i actually dont wanna waste a lot of money just for a luxurious cellphone. i know of some reliable sources where I can get second hand phone at a much cheaper price but the cell is still of good quality.

I bought my phone because of its features. New phones in the market now really helps people live their life easier and comfortable. Just like me, Im a full time employee from a company here in our country but because of my phones feature that can receive email and also I can send to my clients. Clients? Yes i have clients, im a freelance photographer and videographer also an layout artist. Just because im freelance so people who wants to have my service are just emailing me instead of calling, Because i told them that if they contact me thru calling or sending SMS, Im afraid I can,t have it because we're not allowed to receive calls otherwise I lost my job. Also in my free time hooking at my lot with my laptop and my phone as a modem to the internet, I still can enjoy my lot in my work. So thats the good thing of having a heavy loaded feature mobile phone. My Phone Is a nokia E90 seems bulky but great...

Actually if i did not lost my nokia 6610i I would not buy V8. and the reason why I chose v8? nothing.. I want a motorola phone and the first motorola I saw is v8.. there. but I am now detached to my phone. I don't even know where it is.

Mobile and its well users - I do like to use best mobiles
Dear friend,I may buy according to its features and other market evaluation of that phone. May be a small research in internet and survey with my friends and relatives to know the opinions on the phone I am going to buy. May be after that if I get the information that that phone is much valued from those who use and the rating in internet sites too is checked. Hence I may consider it for purchase checking it features first and guarantee given and its past performance.

I agree with you that Cellphones are changing day by day with new models and technology. As far as I am concerned I buy a cellphone as per my requirment. I do not change it due to its features.

Alot of these new phone purchases people are making IMO are based on fads. The problem with fad purchases are that the moment you purchase them you realize a month later something bigger and better comes out and within one year the one you currently have is becoming obsolete...like computers and cars. When i buy new cell phones it is because the one I currently have is messed up in some way. Usually by then I am up for renewal and can get in on the good savings of their cheaper phones. I like you do not use anything other than the phone to talk, sometimes text, and well honestly I have to have my calculator on it....as for the internet I have a computer at home that satisfies that. You are right if you are buying them for fads you are wasting your money. Oh and if your phone is not worth more than $100 or so dollars I would not purchase the cell phone insurance. You still have to cough up a $50 deductible when you need to replace a lost or stolen phone. And usually they have phones in this price range on sale. And FYI the new IPhones do not come with insurance....Ripoff if you ask me. Have a great day.

I would buy a new cellphone only and only because of its features and not just because its a fad. I actually pity people who buy phones for its the most latest thing available and its a fad. Spare those people who have a lot of money but other people like me :) I think a cellphone is a liability (if not used wisely) and when you start changing a cellphone frequently just for the craze it costs you heavy heavy on the pocket.

I changed several cell phones. I gave one to a friend. I usually bought new one when my old one doesn't work well. My current cell phone is Nokia 3230--it's already out of production now. It's been with me like three years. I am still sticking with this one as long as i can make phone calls and send/receive messages lol. New features or design are not the attractive to me. I'm kind of old-fashioned people lol.

I am nont into cellphone, I don't mind having none at all but my mom and sister insisted that I need it, I know they just want to keep track on my whereabouts. They gave me one which is really nice, I didn't use it too long maybe because I am not too fond of it. Until I have to do business and phone is my medium so I bought mine. I still don't plan to buy cellphone just because it looks so nice, I just need it.

it depend on what kind of character you are.if you just like the feature and you are confidence, you will not care about whether it is fad or not.because you do not need such thing to prove that you taste is goog or not.what you do is good, and you will not care about other people's vision. just do what you like!just do it !come on!

not for argument sake i just don afree on this.. because i am not easily influenced.i have mobile phone because i need one not because i want to show off. the most important function for me would be .. phone call and sms's not even mms .. i buy new phone when it is lost or of no use due to the other technology change. i do have friends who likes to buy new phone everytime it is introduced and show off to others. the other friends are also influenced by this and tend to buy another new one to compete. i also have friends who buy the phones as soon as they receive their bonus ... i have also seen my friends who cry because their phone are lost . i have lost 4 phones, my husband have lost about the same number but we never cry because our cost so little. i bet you that you may not have used your new features because most of the other friends of yours may not support that features. maybe their phone does not support video conferencing .. what a waste of your new phones features
