At first i felt bad having to shop there but i have found alot of great bargins. With money being tight and having 2 sons that have seemed to suddenly out grow everything i found some nice brand name clothes for them and i am so grateful that they think that it is cool to shop there. Of course they would never tell their friends because they would be made fun of (kids can be so cruel). When i was growing up my dad use to tell me that thrift stores are only for poor people,i now know that it's not the case that alot of people are in my shoes. Though i think it's wrong when i heard some people that were in there buying things that they were going to sell on ebay! Maybe i'm just thankful for what i found and i just appreciated it that the people donated those items that i myself bought. But is that right to resell items?

Some friends and I used to go to the Salvation Army "the Salvo" and shop. The clothing is just as good, if not more durable, and much cheaper. You aren't buying the name, you are buying the clothes. I can get my boyfriend 10 t-shirts for well under 10$. Considering prices and this clothing is being grown out of...sounds like the most logical thing to do..I wish more people thought this way...Half the shirts you find look like they were never worn...or they're for work and he does construction...so as long as he has clothes...he's set :) Good man...
About reselling items you are searching for...When you go to these stores with the intent of selling something you found for more....I think it is completely wrong and you are taking advantage of the good purpose of these stores. People who are using ebay to make money, obviously aren't having problems with keeping electricity and internet access going to their computer....Internet is a luxury, people who rely on these stores are not concerned with these luxuries...
I think if people are not using these things themselves, they should leave them for those who need them. These stores have a completely different purpose than most national chains. It's not about making money. It's about providing people with the things they need at a price they can afford. To some people, this is the only mall they ever go to. Either buy for your family or leave the goods for those who need them more.
antique stores are different..their prices prove this. They know what some people do-searching for priceless treasures...and their prices can lead you to believe something is when it isn't and vice-versa...

I agree with you. I was surprised at the great things i found and i was really angry when i heard these people talking and laughing about selling what they were buying. I wanted to say something to them but my husband stopped me saying that they would just make a scene. i always say that people who spend so much money on "junk" just to say that they have this or that should give me their money and i'll put it to good use. Thanks for responding.
