I don't know they switched to at@t and it seem to go downhill from there. I get dropped calls a strange clicking sound and It just not as good as it was. Has anyone else have this problem. Why does AT@T claim to be the best if they take the best and make it worse?

I was a Cingular customer when the changeover took place and I didn't notice any difference in the quality of the service or signal. I could still get coverage everyplace I could before. The only notable change I saw was with customer service: it improved dramatically. The staff at our local Cingular store turned over completely and were replaced by people who actually knew how to treat their customers. The old staff spent more time playing with and talking on cell phones than they did selling or servicing them. I also noticed a drastic decline in hold times to speak to customer service personnel when calling in and, while customer service still leaves a lot to be desired, AT&T seems to be a bit more committed to keeping their support personnel's training up to date.

I am glad it worked for the better for you. Maybe it's just my phone itself then but i have never had such problems with dropped or unclear calls from any of the other phones i used when they were cingular. Hopefully it is just the phone the people are always so kind when i talk to them. Not all cell companies are so polite.

I had a similar issue with my phone at first with Cingular. Take it to any AT&T store and tell them what it's doing. Ask them to re-flash your SIM card and make sure that it gets all the updates and is recognizing all the towers in your area. If it's trying to talk to a tower six miles away and there's one six hundred feet away that might be part of the reason why your service is so poor. If that doesn't work, have them replace the SIM card outright. That's what I finally did and it did the trick.
