General Hospital: Andre Karpov...

Am I the only one who thinks that the actor who is playing Andre Karpov is trying to hard to sound like the oldest of old school mobsters, the Godfather? Actually, to be fair, I have never seen those movies but, if I am correct about the origin, I have seen many impressions of the Godfather and, Andre Karpov is doing that voice. When I first heard his voice, I laughed! I thought that he must be joking. Nope...it hasn't changed. I feel like the casting crew of GH has taken the whole mobster thing too far with the casting of Andre Karpov. Enough! LOL!
What do the rest of you think about Andre Karpov? Are you as annoyed with the way he talks as I am? Are you entirely over the whole Mob scene like I am on GH?

He is trying to sound like I don't know who the mobster is may
the Godfather wannabe but it makes me laugh outloud! We are probably
the only 2 to pick up on it, at least I think we are-being Brain Twins
and all. Yes, he bugs the poop out of me! If we keep on having all these
same thoughts I'm going to have to request that mylot starts spliting
the money in 1/2 so that I get 1/2 of yours and you get half of mine.

LOL! And how is my Brain Twin today? LOL! Seriously...we really do think so much alike! Very scary!
I really hope that the powers that be of GH aren't planning on keeping him around much longer because he really is too laughable to keep around. He is supposed to be this big scary mobster dude that kills his girlfriends and other various people in the world but, I can't get past how laughable that voice is! LOL! How am I supposed to fear his presence in PC? How am I supposed to worry about the welfare of Carly and the rest when it is all I can do not to laugh at him every time he is on the show? LOL!

As far as Karpov goes I do not like his voice or his character, or even him as an actor.. but you got to admit the mob thing has been going on for years.. which draws you to G.H when it was first on I used to come home from school and watch it in the mid sixties and back then it was all about the doctors and nurses and the hospital..( in the Hospital) just be thankful we have had that storyline instead of what it used to be like..and I had to watch in black and white..I love G.H.

I love your discussions! I am about 3 shows behind, but from what I have seen I agree 100% he has a "fake" like voice! Its like he is trying too hard. Bad acting!
Yes I am over the mob scenes but what's left ??? Lulu and Johnny??? I'll take the mob!

And, I think it is Andre Karpov's voice that has me most at odds with him. It really is too Godfather-like. It sounds totally fake. Like Bobby's boobs! LOL! Oh wait...are those fake? I don't know that for sure! LOL!
And, I agree...if we lose the mob, unfortunately, the only story left will be Johnny and Lulu. However, if the mob goes away, so does Johnny...maybe! In fact, nearly everyone on that show would disappear without the mob because everyone has a tie or two somewhere to the mob. Maybe not Patrick and Robin. Liz would go with Jason, who would also take Spinelli. Without Spinelli, we would lose Maxie. Carly would be gone along with Kate, Dianne, Alexis, Ric, all of the Zaccharas, Ric's dad...forgetting his name right now, Mike (Sonny's dad), Bobby, Mac wouldn't have anyone to arrest which would also bring down the entire PCPD, and really, I think the only people left would be Tracy, possibly Edward, maybe Scott except his storyline is wrapped tightly around Lulu and Johnny's so, he would likely go too. Luke might be able to stick around. I think all total, we might have around 10 characters that could stand a chance of staying on GH without the mob scene but, it would be tough as most of them work in the hospital and, without gunshot wounds and other mob related injuries, who would the hospital treat? LOL!

I do agree he sounds very mobbish lol. I find it kinda funny but im new to all this so I havent had time to get sick of it yet lol.

LOL! It may take you a few years but, eventually you will probably come to the same frustrating conclusion that all of us long time viewers came to long ago. General Hospital is the Sonny show! LOL! A.K.A, Mob Hospital. Or, General Mob. Or, Port Mob, NY! LOL! I know I should just stop watching but, I have invested so much of my life into being a viewer that it would feel like taking my skin off and leaving it somewhere to just walk away from the show now. LOL! So, I stew in a pot of my own juices while I roll my eyes at the whole Mob scene on the show and try to look forward to the brief moments of non-mob related storylines! LOL!
