omg i dont even know where to start on the problems with my dog. 1. she is soooooooooooooo fat seriously fat. and when we try to put her on a diet she cries and growls and barks until wer give her our food. i dont want my little one to die but when will the eating end? 2. she is a wheezer. my brother saw on a website to give her benadril. so we try to hide it in a piece of food but the dog would eat the food and spit the pilll out. 3. every single time i walk pass her she growls and runs to attack me. i'm the only person she does this to. she loves strangers but me she cant stand me walking pass her. this happens even if she is across the room. 4. she is starting to not eat her own food. and if we dont give her people food she will literally not eat for days and just keep begging and wont touch her food. 5. i'm not even allowed to walk her any more because i'm preg. and my mom is scared she will pull me over. id odnt like my mom walking her b/c my mom is an elderly woman and she has pullen her over a couple of times. and once she knocked me on the ground and i hit my head. how do i get her to stop pulling like that. shes not a large dog but she is very heavy and strong. and she could walk calmly and out of no where jerk really hard. please i need help to stop my fat wheezing killer dog.

It sounds like you need a pet trainer. I would definitely eat out for a week so she won't beg and she would have to eat her own food. You can cook rice and chicken 2 times a day with apples as a treat! This would help a lot. I do animal communication and I have heard many stories, but this is unreal! It just seems so crazy! I hope something turns around. I don't think your dog likes that your pregnant either... how long has your dog been doing this? All of it together.

she needs to be on a diet. She needs regular exercise also. Beware that wheezing could indicate heartworms as well. Have her checked by your vet and let him recommend a feeding schedule for her and stick to it. If she begs and makes a pest of herself during your meal times crate her. We have to crate our big dog cause she gets in your face during meal times. she doesn't like it but she is getting better at tolerating it.

First off, if you have an overweight dog - switch to diet food and cut down on the amount of food you are feeding her. Lets say you normally give her 1 cup 2 times a day (which is severe over feeding) feed here 1/2 a cup 3 times a day. Also, one of those feedings should be wet food to help with her kidneys. For exercise - can you get a dog walker? or just let her run around in your backyard? Wheezing - that could be a major heart worm problem. With he being obese, could just be her weight. DO NOT give your dog benedryl without taking her to the vet first. Odds are she needs to loose weight and has heart worms (she may need to be put down - heart worms could also make her mean)

There are not really any shortcuts to get a dog to lose weight. You need to give her less food (good quality dog food!), split it up into two times a day and pick up the food if she has not eaten after 10 minutes. She may very well go without food for some days but a dog will not starve itself. She will eat when she's hungry enough. Stop giving her people food completely regardless how much she cries and barks for it. And she needs a good amount of daily exercise. If you cannot walk her yourself, perhaps you should look into finding a dog walker that comes and takes her for an hour or two long walk every day. It also sounds as if she could use more training to get her behaviour up to acceptable limits - I would never accept a dog of mine to growl and bark at me if it weren't done in a very playful manner and I said it was okay.

Sounds like you need to put her on a diet and stick to it. If she's grouchy about it and you give in, it's your fault she's gaining weight. Ignore her pouting and fussing and tell yourself that you're doing her a favor by putting her on a diet. I know those eyes are hard to deny, but she'll only get worse if you continue to feed her. A lot of dogs won't stop eating until they can't eat any more. I've got a completely healthy dog that would eat until she popped, if she was allowed. If she's wheezing, it very well could be related to her weight and a sign of congestive heart failure. Benadryl won't help that. Maybe you should consider taking her to a trainer, because it sounds like she needs some behavioral help that you aren't able to provide. Good luck with your pregnancy, and I hope you're able to find help for your pup.

She wants attention. Give her people food like carrots and green beans. Put some of her food in a small bag and use it as a treat. I wrote an article that comes from professional advice. Hope it helps. Personally, I'd put her outside or in another room when you are eating. Consider it the same as with a baby you've put to bed. Let her fuss a bit. Be the parent! http://www.helium.com/items/1097336-treating-obesity-in-dogs

Even though it is hard eventaully if you just leave her food there and stop giving her your food no matter what she will get that hungry she will eat her food. As regarding her problems about growling and stuff are there any local dog training classes you could take her too? x

There are instances where fat dogs aquire hind legs problem because it can't hold up much weight or most of the times heat strokes are very common to fat dogs. That's why you need to act now, give him a diet.

the explaination of that, your dor is very slow metabolism! what kind of metabolism?? there are 2 types of it ANABOLISM & CATABOLISM, the anabolism is to intake nutrients of the cell, and catabolism is to breakdown and release, your dog is slow on metabolism which is slow on catabolism!!!

You should feed her yourself small meals if she eats dry food and do it by one handful at a time in her bowl if she sees you as her only source of food then she won't be so liable to get mean with you. You need to exercise her daily walks are great working with her on a leash in you yard first teach her to heel by slightly pulling on her leash a saying heel in a loud firm voice, not angry or frustrated voice. If your calm they usually stay calm. Once she gets that down start on small walks and make them longer every week. that will help with the weight too.

Do not give her any more table food she won't let herself starve eventually she will eat the food she is provided. You have to be consistant or she will die.

Table food is especially bad for dogs, it can mess with their digestive systems and cause foul odors... im sure nobody wants to smell the effects of that

lol.......try to punish her by keeping her on diet. don't try to be so good with the dog. just try to be angry and it will be scared (don't worry, by scaring, i guess, it should be more better) don't try to be soooooooo nice with them. see, somethings when u have to be nice sometimes and bad sometimes, and if they get use to it. too bad for u, it will be hard to do something with them or when u try to train them. i am just saying, lke it becomes a habit which would be hard to change.....

What the heck kind of response is this?? Scare your dog? What good is that going to do? NONE!! If an animal is scared they react like they've been cornered and become aggressive, so scaring this poor dog isn't going to do one bit of good! I truly hope you're not a pet owner.

Hi friends, I have such a problem with my Tazz, my dog. I constantly have to clean out his ears because the smell is so horrible. The black gunk that comes out is unbelievable, and I'm talking every time I do them. He hates getting it done, but you can tell he is relieved when it is over. I have tried ear drops, they don't do any good. They certainly don't take the gunk out. But I fear that I am doing the wrong thing because it is said you shouldn't use Q-tips to push into the ear canal. But I cannot just let him walk around smelling like bad cheese. I don't know what to do. And vet bills are out of the question. We've got three kids and only my husband is working because of my back. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? Thanks Cheryl

Well the first thing you can do is call a dog whisper. Second, while i was reading I didn't see anything about taking her to the vet. You shouldnt even have to post this. As a matter of fact thats should had been the first thing you thought of.
