When I used to smoke, the stains on my teeth drove me crazy. Since I quit, there are occassional coffee stains. There are so many whitening systems on the market, I just use them as needed. I don't automatically use the on a schedule, because they can damage the gums, according to my dentist.

I don't think it necessarly would bother me unless it was really noticable. Maybe you friend is just more concered with the healthiness of her teeth and not really how they look. Or she may think people proceve her has unclean if you teeth are stained. Either way, it is your friends decision right?

My dentist said that to help keep your teeth white after you get a cleaning - use a straw when you drink tea, coffee and soda.
