Beijing 2008 olympics opening ceremony

Awesome!!! ok, let's not be judgemental and leave our political and economic biases on the side. Wow, i am impressed how the director (zhang) pulled such a grandoise display of artistry. The guy's imagination is so radical. there were about 15,000 participants for the opening ceremonies alone and only the chinese can do perfect synchronization of their movement. You've got to watch from the beginning and until to the lighting of the torch where this guy flew from the ground up to the ceiling of the stadium and starting running on air and lit a big fuse to start the olympic torch. Of course, since they invented the fireworks, the whole of beijing is lighted with a grand display of endless fireworks in the sky! I do not think any country can top that, they have to do something else that is amazing than this one. By the way, i am not chinese. I am definitely be waiting for 15 days to watch the closing ceremonies. Kudos for the host nation.

Yes, i love this opening ceremony, this is one of the greatest so far. I love the directors imagination and it was so perfect. I am amazed when I saw some look like boxes only to find out that those are people standing, and the lighting of torch. The fireworks inside and outside the bird's nest are so brilliant. All in all it was the greatest.

I am so sorry I missed it. I was not at home nor was I near a television set so I did not see it. I am going to request it from net flix so I can see it after the olympics are over with.

I didn't get to see all the ceremonies & I only got to see clips. It looked so lovely. Is it on some site or on youtube? That would be cool to watch again from the beginning, right? Thanks HAND!

I also laud the Chinese for a very good job on the olympics. They have been preparing for the event for a while now and had been so looking forward to it. They really put their hearts and talents to make this year's olympics extraordinary. I actually didn't watch the opening. So after hearing so much about it, i decided to watch it in youtube.

Sorry, I was not able to se the opening. Perhaps look for some old files. I dont like also to look for the competition, I am not too sporty. Beijing has its name in the map, and it will continue to shine more.

I din finish watching the whole opening ceremony.. I only watched it for 20 mins or so and i get turned off by it.. It's far too long and boring, and slow moving..
MAybe towards the end it will be better but i just cant bring myself to carry on watching and thus, i missed the fireworks too.. haha =D
Hopefully the closing ceremony will be better than the opening.. hehe

Actually I am not a big fan on sports and stuff but I watched the opening ceremony too and it was really interesting and breath-taking. I was so happy that nothing go wrong and everything went according to plan. Hope you enjoy watching the sports!

I have to agree with you there the opening ceremony was very well put together. We watched the whole thing it, it was very good the way they done it. Thought it was really clever the way the fireworks where done so they were in the shape of a foot print.
Lets just hope that the rest of the games goes just as smoothly.
